Goth Bunnies

They come in many sizes and shapes. Sometimes even without any visible ears or tail. They have white skin (or fur), gothic coloured hair and clothes and a penchant to clap their hands at vampires, instead of running away like more sensible rabbits would.

Who’s to say that bunnies cannot have tiny fangs as well? Or at least a preference for colours that are not pastels? Maybe there’s a secret bunny underground, opposing the damnable association to pink? Begone already, abomination unto the gods of colour!

One must remember though that no matter what colours a bunny wears or style she prefers, they cannot escape their true nature. You can cover them in black and blood-red, give them bad-ass weapons and observe them trying to fang-hiss while wiggling their noses, it’s no use: the cute is always there.

You cannot blame them, though. There are two defences a bunny can have: run fast or be too cute to kill. Have you ever tried to run in high heels or a gala dress? Did not think so.

Nocturnal

You might have seen them from the corner of your eye, merging with the shadows, prowling the night, only the glow of their eyes giving them away… until they tumble out of the dark, raise their paws up and ask to be snuggled.

This goofy little thing is a nocturnal meeroo: full of giddy excitement to explore her surroundings better. Especially the magical plantlife that is instinctively familiar to her. The elf who caught the meeroo — or perhaps simply picked her up after the silly critter tumbled out and decided similar markings and ears meant they belong together — is trying very hard not to laugh.

The meeroos have journeyed to join other magical creatures at Fantasy Faire, where they have settled at Lumenaria. If you’re more interested in the elf than the cuddly things, the skin, ears and eyes are all by The Plastik and they’ll be available in Evensong Woods. The poses by Musa can be found in Magnificat. The Faire is now open for all the adventurers to enter and shop to their hearts’ content!

Busy Mode

Sometimes life resembles juggling more than anything else. Keep everything in motion, one part at a time, one movement after another. Don’t think, don’t analyse  just keep going. Catch the umbrellas before the wind pulls them away. Or the privateering bunnies hijack them as an impromptu airship flotilla.

There’s a rhythm to juggling — or keeping all your thoughts balanced and somewhat grounded — if you let one escape you’ll be spending all your time chasing it and when you get back to the others, they’ve floated away as well. Don’t lose focus, stick to the rhythm, don’t let anything distract you.

If everything else fails: prioritize and have a cup of coffee, then start all over. The coffee will help.

The parasols by HANDverk and the poses by PictureThis! are available in Pose Fair until April 14th. You can find the umbrellas in Exposeur’s booth, since they were designed for those poses. I just had too much fun juggling air flotilla bunnies instead of using them as intended. The Bells II hairstyle by Alice Project is available in the current round of FaMESHed. Easter Mystery

“So, if nobunny lays eggs and the birdies swear they’re innocent, where DO the eggs come from? Especially the chocolate ones.”

Of course I couldn’t resist, had to make a picture with a bun-tail for Easter. For someone who goes by that name all year long I indulge in too few excuses to wear the ears and tail. This is bunny-look-excuse prime time right now, so I simply had to. Just no pastels. Absolutely no pastels.

F is for Flamingos

Why not? Life is so strange and often challenging that we all could use some random things that make us smile as often as possible. It’s an important skill, being able to smile, laugh, enjoy the little oddities and quirks that the world offers us.

There’s something thoroughly appealing in pixel food. I am not certain if it’s the sense of making the world more real, more alive or if it ties more closely to that lure of unnecessary oddities. They’re perfect, delicious-looking and completely futile things, but yet they call to us. They apparently also call to pandas, so make sure to guard yours!

The quirky flamingo clutch by HANDverk and the adorable pearl collar by lassitude & ennui are both available in the current round of L’Accessoires. Petites Like Shinies, Too

Who wouldn’t? In this case I’m referring to the Crystal Hunt in the recently opened Petite Kingdom. I was tempted to take pictures in the sim because it’s gorgeous, but the lure of playing with the prizes and other shinies won. The crystal that seems so big in this picture is the hunt object. They glow blue and every participating shop has a hint, so it’s really not that difficult. More a fun way to explore the sim than a torture method.

The hunt will clothe and accessorize your petite rather well and provides plenty of furniture, but you do have to have a petite first. If you don’t, the first floating castle has plenty of them for sale. This particular petite is obviously a teenager princess, lounging on the alcove by {Mole End}, wearing G Field’s outfit and Wasabi Pills’ Noriko hair. All three are from the hunt, but the extra jewelry she plays with is not. Those are normal avatar sized shinies by ::: Krystal :::.

Roawenwood had plenty of fun petite furniture in the hunt and this little flower parasol by *Epic* was to squee for. The leaf-and-branches outfit is by Fallen Gods Inc., perfect for tiny dryads. The small skunk by D-Lab is from The Arcade’s gacha event, he just plopped on the chair and refused to move. Would you try to remove a skunk, no matter how cute? Yeah, me neither.

I could not resist. I’m sure you’re all surprised. Anyways! The petite kimono by Naminoke and the hair by Wasabi Pills are from the hunt. The Tee*fy camera that floats because magic — duh — and the ASO! alphabet bracelets spelling bunny are also from The Arcade. Happy Mood bunnies are just their squeetastic selves. Non-specified parts of the scenery are Ely’s awesome landscaping.

Even if you’re not interested in the hunt, Petite Kingdom is well worth the visit for breathtaking views. Go explore and have fun!

Hamster Band and Wagon

We’re all on it, the hamster bandwagon. If you have no idea what I’m talking about, it’s the dwarf hamster mesh avatars by Beetlebones in The Arcade. This is a new month-long event to be repeated four times a year, it started on 15th and will end on 15th October. The next round after that will be in December. And it’s all about gachas!

I knew I had to have one, because seriously: so much squee! The other must-have for me was the bunny spices. !Ohmai’s gacha is full of various spice jars with different animals on top and spice racks as rare prizes. There’s eighteen different spices so for those wanting a full spice rack that’s quite a job to collect! I don’t have a house, so I had no need to get them all, but obviously I had to have  both bunny-ones just because.

I had to provide my hamster with sufficient noms, so here’s gacha prizes from Love Soul and BCC. A delicious sandwich food tray and a paper bag full of macarons! On the background is a part of the rare prize from the hamster gacha: blue hamster home from an accessory pack. I got lucky and got that on my first try before I even had a hamster! From the same pack came the hamster wheel below.

Here Sway’s piggy bank and D-LAB’s brown skunk observe the running wheel training. Both of them are from the gachas as well. Everything in the surroundings that I didn’t name to be from The Arcade is a part of a birthday fest scene by Garden of Dreams. Tables and seating and noms, birthday cake with text-change, couple and single dances, balloons… it fit the hamster-life perfectly.

52 Colours: Wales

Wales is a green that to me looks like a child drawing grass with crayons. I was initially rather worried about finding anything in the right tone, but then out of nowhere (read: the depths of my inventory) I found this mini-dress by The Plastik to save the day! Even when I wore it as a top with pants by Somnia instead of a dress.

Today is Bandana Day, so if you haven’t yet got your bandana, Hair Fair has a handy booth in every sim. This particular watermelon bandana is by Curious Kitties. I made sure to match it with a watermelon noming bat by Pink Fuel and delicious basket of noms by Poche. The latter is available in Okinawa Summer Festival.

The Nasreen-skin by bilo was fittingly innocent to go with the summery relaxation and it seems I’ve been unable to get these Nostalgia-boots by lassitude & ennui off of Sonya, since she’s still wearing them.

Remember that today is the last day of Hair Fair, so if you haven’t yet bought all the things, now’s the time!

Summer Sailing

I was tempted to call this post Sailor Cute, but I actually never watched Sailor Moon so my ability to make connections would have ended at the names. Regardless, this bikini by katat0nik is seriously the cutest sailor outfit ever while also being the most standout bikini of this summer. So much love.

My magical familiar companion is played by my meepet Lumi, modelling various funny Hair Fair gifts. The colour-change-scripted sailor hair is by Tameless, also a fair gift. Hair Fair is one of the best events for freebie-hunters, almost every booth has gifts to spoil us. My favourites tend to be the silly ones, it’s like a mini Crazy Hair Hunt.

The shed is a freebie by L2 Studio from the hunt at The Gallery Gift Shop. The decor is a mix from those hunt loots, the temporary closing sale at Concrete Flowers and this delicious drink by Poche from Okinawa Summer Festival.

I think in the end Sailor Cute decided that magical familiars do not need wigs to perform their sidekick duties, but I’d like to remind you that children do. Hair Fair is of course about several sims worth of new hair releases and gifts, but it is also about Wigs for Kids. By now the lag should have calmed down on the sims, so go buy all the things!

Fading into Blue

Remember the Blue Fairy? She was so miffed about Cousin Sparklewing being in the FF poster that she swore she’d buy all the wings from the Faire! Fortunately she didn’t have to, because Vaengi is giving out pretty-shiny wings in Meandervale and changing their gift every day, go check! I tried to tell her that there are more petite-sized wings for sale, in several shops, but did she listen? Nooo. She wanted the biggest wings EVER. So that’s what she got.

With that I shall also take my leave for a week. RL trip of no internet connection is hugely disturbing my Faire-blogging plans, but what can you do. While I’m gone I’m expecting you all to shop the Faire empty and rescue the world! There’s a quest involving the Faire beginning today, after all…
