Blue Twist

September 1st starts off another round of Twisted Hunt, as is already traditional. The theme is darkness and the cubes are midnight blue, decoys are plentiful and torment levels high. There’s a whole month to lose your sanity while squinting and camming for the cubes, so take your time!

I don’t have magic powers or a TARDIS in my disposal, so obviously I’ve only scratched the surface of the hunt, but from what I have managed to find so far this outfit by Blue Blood is definitely among the favourites. I adore the frozen shadow style sleeves and collar and if I could get everything in that blue, I might even wear less black!

The skin, eyes and makeup are by [VoiD] and there’s also a mini-hunt for more colour options in the shop. I also added a Possession body tattoo by Hysteria under the outfit, although only some outreaching shadow tendrils are visible. I’ll have to use it again later, because it’s really appropriate for this theme.

The hoofies are from Dilly Dolls and the setting is the Midnight Cavern by Urban Forge. It’s a cave dwelling with three floors, a pool, optional fire and secret door to the lowest level.

Everything except the hair and the poses is from Twisted Hunt. I recommend their website for slurls, joining the group for hints and hopping to the beginning location here.

Nightstalker

The hunt is on! I’m of course talking about the World Goth Day Nightstalker Hunt, running the whole of May. It’s a small one, less than 50 goth shops and a good way to get into the mood for the later World Goth Fair that begins on 15th. More information available here.

The Greatest Show Unearthed tent is by Urban Forge Virtuatecture and it’s exactly what every creepy circus character needs. The Pride dress is by Blue Blood, it’s red hems giving the impression of having waded through… red dye. Obviously. What else?

The Vapor necklace is by House of Rain, a new gothic jewelry shop providing modifiable mesh jewelry to all your darker moods. The Unheimlich ear gauges by CoLLisions worked perfectly with the necklace, both twisting in delightful curves. The lace mask by Izzie’s is not from the hunt, but it was so fitting that I had to use it. You can find it in the Summer Beauty Festival.

Dark Doveling

Petites continue their tiny but persistent revolution, taking the grid over one designer at a time. This post is about three of them, but more importantly, it’s about a sad wingless doveling wishing to fly.

This avatar was a cooperation between Fallen Gods Inc. and Yabusaka and it was exclusive to the Fantasy Faire. I apologize blogging such a teaser after you cannot get it anymore, but I was out of country at the time and I just cannot resist how pretty it is, so I hope you all grabbed the chance when you had it!

The outfit is a dollarbie by Blue Blood, who has started petite-sizing their pretty gothic dresses as well, go and see! The surroundings are a hollow log petite fairy home by Sax Shepherd Designs. He also makes pretty petite jewelry, the doveling is wearing Frills Drop Stone Pendant here.

Here the doveling dropped off all the clothes, hoping that it would help her wings grow so she could fly like the big sister, but no such luck. Just a tease of a butterfly. Maybe one day!

Frills and Feathers

Oh, and ribbons, but they don’t alliterate with the others, so no title for them! Seriously, when I saw these Prudence boots by Lassitude & Ennui, that’s all I could think of. More ribbons! They made me think of dark gothic slightly period style, but I assure you that they go perfectly well with cutesy modern ones, too!

To my great delight Blue Blood has a -50% sale on all the non-RFL items in her booth in Jungle Bungle. This Coppelia-dress was one of them. Why yes, the theme was ribbons and feathers. I sauntered into Shadow’s Claw in the Faire to take the pictures. All the engraved stones and runes and obvious darker side of magic worked perfectly for this character.

Lounging against the sacrifice stone to show off the boots better. Admire the ribbons! There are obviously several different colour options available in Jackal’s Faire booth in Jungle Bungle and lavender ones in the RFL-vendor. The boots will be available in her main store after the Faire.

The Hawk-hair is one of the new releases by Wasabi Pills, available in the Faire in The Tides. It crowned the look without needing anything as obvious as actual metallic objects. We all know that vampires surely have long, flowing, perfect hair, right? It’s practically in the manual.

Twisted Changeling

I promise I’ll stop with these soon, but I just couldn’t resist this one… Noctis has a spooky abandoned victorian pram as the prize and I immediately knew what I’d do with it. Twisted Changeling Roo!

…what? They’ve been petted and snuggled by all these twisted creatures I’ve blogged, had a vote and demanded to be let into the game as well.

I took the pictures in a small castle by Gothic Desires and put on a dress by Blue Blood to give the image a mock-Victorian-vibe. The twisted teddy bear is by LOoLo’s. Stockings are from Sassy’s outfit.

The hat with all the butterflies is by Heartsick and the posture collar is by Rasetsukoku. Hair by Sky Everett (not a part of the hunt) and skin (what little you can see of it) by Belle Morte.

So now that even my roos have entered the Twisted mood, mayhaps I should stop with all of this and get back to other themes already. *coughs* But they’d make perfect changelings! Approach the pram and there’s a tentative purr-beep-nau?

Peeping~

It’s time to peep! Alternatively, it’s time to see how much stuff I have in my ‘sort’ folder. So, here’s a combined post about Easter, spring, bunnies, chicks, peeps and apparently also of dubious substances!

We’ll begin the story with this demure look and peeps hiding in the corner…

Everything looks somewhat normal, right? The bunny-masked girl is about to give a kiss to the lil chick, her pet bunny is admiring the new bunny bag on the couch, birdies in the lamp chirp singsongs, peeps observe silently…

…and suddenly the peeps take over! Obviously during the spring days the peeps have magical powers of transformation and translocation and who knows what else!

They are also …curious little fellows who fully embrace their small size and point of view it offers. Normally such a little peep would get a heel on his nose, but I fear there’s only one creature left whispering in the bun-girl’s ear and it’s a cthulhu…

See what happens when you take advice from miniature Elder Gods! I’m of course referring to the tea growing green, duh. Sonya would like to point out that this last picture is a result of photo manipulation and she would surely never end up in a situation like that. I mean, come on now. The peep is -smoking-! Ick.

That said, have peeptastic and bunnific holiday!

Credits: Most of the things are from The Seasons Hunt and Stash Bash Hunt with some items from one of the Evil Bunny Hunts. All the peeps are by aDORKables (spring freebie) and are awesome fun to play with. The various bun-girls are all wearing skin by League, eyes by Poetic Colors, lashes by Redgrave and bunny face tattoo layer by YaYo (The Evil Bunny Hunt). When visible, the black fluffy bunny tail is by Eat Rice! and hand tattoos are by Pulcino (subscribo-gift). Latte is of course an Ozimals bunny.

Picture 1: Tucson house by L2 Studio, bench & shelf by Little Boxes, bird lamp by Sea Salt, spring hall table by Cheeky Pea, bunny bag by TokiD, bunny mask by (pda), chick & kissy pose by Exposeur and birdy ring by Magic Nook, all of these from the Seasons Hunt. Skirt & belt by The Sea Hole and earrings by Adore & Abhor are from Stash Bash Hunt. The top (worn only partially here) is a group gift by Lo*momo and the hair by Posh is from their 25L sale that continues until Sunday.

Picture 2: The bed growing in the background by Art Dummy, hair by Plume, flowers by Olive Juice and the long necklace by Concrete Flowers are all from the Seasons Hunt. The outfit by Blue Blood and the shorter necklace by Ducknipple are from Stash Bash Hunt. The wagon by Zacca is from an Easter Hunt in SwayLand. The lop ears are by Poetica and what little you can see from shoes by Dilly Dolls.

Picture 3: The hair by Tiny Bird, the table, chairs and flowers by The Loft, the sprout pet by Intrigue Co., the bucket and chipmunk by sur+ and of course the bee (the hunt item itself) are all from the Seasons Hunt. Chocolate bunnie ears and the hopping sakura bunny are group gifts from Curious Kitties. The Easter shoulder Cthulhu is by Avatar Bizarre, the outfit by The Plastik, shoes by Dilly Dolls, faberge egg necklace by WTG, the bun-in-egg next to Latte is by Toast and the rose balcony skybox is a group gift from Lo*momo.

Picture 4: Comodo lounge by MudHoney (Stash Bash Hunt), playboy-bunny outfit by Sassy (The Evil Bunny Hunt) and the tea cup by Flowey (Seasons Hunt).

To Merrily Go Around~

I’ve always been amused by the word. Merry-go-round. It’s something I feel we Finns should call them, since we usually have very unimaginatively descriptive names for things, but no. We call them karuselli, aka the Finnishized version of carousel. Apparently the word comes from Italian garosello, ‘little battle’. The whole thing was apparently a form of cavalry training. Who knew!

This wonderful summery carousel is from Kusshon, a prize in the Seasons Hunt. The spring lampions (another wonderful word) are by Nordaris from the same hunt. So is the fun sunroom by Molto Bene! I usually try to take my pictures with very clear settings so the items are visible, but this combination just called for shadows. Beware of green-eyed dollies asking for a whirl~

The dolly has a Mynerva skin (group gift), Redgrave lashes, The Plastik eyes, additional make-up by Pididdle (Seasons Hunt) and hair by Waka & Yuki (dollarbie at Mimi’s Choice). The dress is by Blue Blood, earrings by DP Yumyum (group gift), crown and doll key by Violet Voltaire (No Strings Attached Hunt) and the pose is from a broken dolly AO by Creative Insanity (NSA Hunt).

Twisting (N)evermore

Another year, another March, another Twisted Hunt — this time the cubes are red and the theme is Nevermore. This means a lot of squee for red, black and feathers~ As usual, the prizes were full of awesome and too plentiful to fit into one blog post, so I present only some of my favorites in the form of the Raven Sisters.

“Tell us, wise grandmother, how do we free our sister? She’s been lured into a trap by humans; betrayed, caught and caged.”

The Eldest of the Raven Sisters is asking for guidance, hovering in the air in the pose included in the chair by Lemons & Cream. The rug and the plant are also a part of the set. The Hellraiser pedestal with a non-red cube is from Archaic. The skull on the chair (to hide the poseball) is by Tay’s and the red cube & raven are one of the extras from Lemons & Cream. The Nevermore Mansion (the frame is a part of it) is from Malfean Visions.

Look at the frame again. See the shadow of the murdered woman? That’s not a shadow nor a part of the painting, it’s a prim shadow by Likka*House attached to the back of the Eldest. She’s wearing an outfit from Bad Juju, gloves & bracelets by Loulou&Co, hat by Delaney’s, hair corsage by Bliensen + MaiTai and necklace by CoLLisions. The awesome crow feet are by Gilded, skin by ^Re.Birth^, face tattoo by Bubble and hair by Souzou Eien.

“Grandmother said only this, dear sister: ‘No shame in getting caught, only in not getting out. She is a Raven.’”

The middle one of the Raven Sisters brought the word to the youngest. There is no lock to keep a raven in. If you don’t believe me, read this. The crow in a cage is by DV8, a part of the Evil End Game prizes. The crystal ball with a red cube on the mantlepiece is by Lemons & Cream, one of the extra prizes. Everything else in the house, including the house itself, is a part of Raven’s Chamber, a wonderful prize from Michigan’s Shack.

This particular Raven Sister is wearing an outfit by Blue Blood, a raven mask by Souzou Eien, cameo necklace by Sacred Roses, skin by ^Re.Birth^and hair by Bad Juju. The hair wasn’t a hunt prize, but an extra for sale for 10 lindens. I couldn’t resist. The pose is Mela’s.

“And now that I’m out, it’s time for revenge! I’ve memorized their faces, their habits, their addresses, their very souls.”

Here’s the Youngest of the Raven Sisters fleeing her gilded cage. The little garden is built inside the Parliament of Rooks by Curvasive Designs. It consists of the gilded cage by Trident, a bench and curtain by Dolome Designs and extra flowers (there were some with the cage) by Oddment.

The Youngest is wearing… not much, what with recent shapechange to freedom, but there’s a very sharp knife between her lips by Virtual Insanity! Surely that counts? No? Well, there’s also a necklace by DV8 and bracelets by Mia’s Gems. The feather pasties are a part of the skin by b[ELLE]issima, the rest of the scribblings on her skin are a separate tattoo layer from CoLLisions. Her hair is by DV8, wings are by Favole and the circling flock of accompanying ravens of doom are by ImmateriA. She has the same crow feet as the Eldest (by Gilded), although they’re not much visible. Pose is by Niqotine Poses.

What do we learn from all this? Be nice to ravens. You might forget what you did, but they will not. Ever.

How do your pixels live?

I think it says something about the human mind that in the world where we can be anything we want, we often create most wondrous fantasy avatars, who then have homes with bedroom, living room, kitchen and bathroom. The very least. I have been plotting a full-freebie post about a fantasy avi, but I’m seriously having trouble finding a freebie skybox and/or other environment base for that avi to live in. Where as I could kit a dozen of different styled human avis and their houses with freebies. Especially now!

Putting my rambling aside for the moment to introduce the SL House & Garden Hunt! The blog is here and the beginning location is here. There’s 50 shops involved, all ridiculously high quality and the organization was practically flawless. By the time I started it, it was smooth, effortless and fun. It also did what only the very best of hunts do anymore — introduced me to several shops I had never heard of, but immediately fell in love with. I do not go through too many hunts these days, not thoroughly. I admit that I handpick, either based by blog posts or because I know I like a certain shop’s style and quality. There simply are too many hunts going on at any given moment. However, this one I did from beginning to the end and it might end up being on the top of the list based on how much stuff from a hunt I -keep-. So very warmly recommended. <3

This beach house from Starwind Homes is my favorite from the houses and skyboxes in the hunt. It is interestingly built, has a wonderful colour scheme and even paintings matching it. The window sill has a couple of pillows for lounging upon, but I used the floor pillow from {what next} instead. I decorated the window sill with two bonsai trees from Organica, candles from Ambiance, ickle so-cute-it-kills tulip from LISP Bazaar and a little book pile from .SunnyM.

You can see more books from Aria on a window sill on the left, right next to the mostly yellow chair and table from Art Dummy. I set a bunch of fun make-up products from Dutchie on the table. Far back — somewhat hidden my by skirt — is a hacienda lounging rug with pillows from Ambiance (colour-change <3) and a lamp from Melia. Up in the ceiling is a ventilator from Cleo Designs. The paintings on the right are a part of the house, but beneath them is a canvas trio from Aria and Kessel table from Second Spaces.

The dress brings me to another hunt alert for August: No Strings Attached Hunt, for all you doll lovers. The blog is here. Orange and beige aren’t usually my colours (except possibly in steampunk looks <.<), but this dress was way too cute to pass. Not to mention conveniently matching to all this orange in the house. Oh, and it’s from Broken Doll. ^_^ Hair is from Curious Kitties, eyes from Poetic Colors, apple in her hand from Shade — none of which are a part of any present hunts. She’s wearing a lovely key jewelry set from Violet Voltaire, complete with a doll key, also a part of the NSA Hunt. I know, I know, not really visible, but I wanted to mention them just in case. The skin is from Nightshade and it’s a part of another interesting hunt going on at the moment, but I’ll ramble more about it in just a few pictures~

I blame the scarecrow. It just sort of automatically set the vibe slightly strange, mayhaps even creepy. Just a touch of it~ The scarecrow and the garden where my rogue rabbits are busy noming are from Herbalys. The grass is from MiaSnow and it’s tintable. It’s white, I added some green to it to match the rest of the scene. The picnic table is from Phi and the waffle maker on it from Reek. The yucca plant in the bottom right corner is from Blonde. The whole little garden scene is set into a tree sky garden from Zacca.

The slightly eerie broken dollie is enjoying the mood swing from Belle Belle. The broken doll skin is from F’ed Up, a part of the NSA Hunt. The dress is Blue Belle from Deviance, I believe it was in the lucky cupcake. Shoes are from Grim Bros and they’re my favorite dollie shoes ever, such details. <3 The hair is from 69 (not free) and there’s Sounds of Nature headphones on her head, complete with little butterflies and all… the latest Themeory product from Tweedle.

Slightly darker and more modern dollie here, lounging on a pillow from UrbanizeD. Most of the things on the background are from Designer Prims. (The chair on the right, the taller table, all the things on it and the books under it, to be precise.) The wall decal that I shrunk and set under the window is from {what next}, the smaller table with candles on it is also from UrbanizeD and the collection of books and tasty looking drink and glass is dubbed ‘clutter’ and is from .SunnyM. The movie clapper is a part of a director’s chair set from Tasty and the skybox itself is from Barcode.

The Hellsing Manga, the bright red spot in the near monochrome room is from Atypical and a part of the Industry District’s opening celebration hunt. It runs until August 12th and you’re looking for tiny gears in corresponding shops, here’s the ride. The Nightshade skin in the first picture is from this hunt. Other things from the hunt in this picture are the tattoos from Endless Pain, lip piercing from Little Boy Blue, industrial fall out goggles from Forsaken and the eyes — what little you can see of their gleam — from Eye Factory. The skin and the outfit are both from the latest Black Bacchanal — skin by Nomine and outfit by Blue Blood. The hair is from Exxess Designs (not free).

So many hunts going on and I’ve barely scratched the surface again. @.@
