52 Colours: Lemon Chiffon

Miss Lemon Chiffon is getting married! Or at least wanting to. Before you all faint, I would like to point out the wording there: Miss Lemon Chiffon is most definitely not Sonya. Period. I just couldn’t resist this gorgeous creation by Munchflower Zaius, especially since it was in a conveniently challenge matching tone. Saved my pastel-avoidant-inventory day completely!

So if you -are- getting married in SL, these limited Ariel-gowns are the perfect solution for you. They come in six different colours, 12 of each are set for sale and once they are gone, Munch will set out a new limited creation instead, so the brides of next year — or even month — can’t wear the same thing.

There’s zillion options starting from the traditional veil and two sizes of skirt (this is the smaller one) to a lace duster, gloves, stockings, shoes, corset and of course the lingerie. Which seems to be the final solution for drawing out a dark, handsome stranger when the wedding gown failed to do the trick…

What? She’s posing in gothic ruins of an abbey for a -reason-. You didn’t think she wanted to marry a good, wholesome boy, hmm? Not while I’m sitting behind the keyboard, thank you very much.

Nightstalker

The hunt is on! I’m of course talking about the World Goth Day Nightstalker Hunt, running the whole of May. It’s a small one, less than 50 goth shops and a good way to get into the mood for the later World Goth Fair that begins on 15th. More information available here.

The Greatest Show Unearthed tent is by Urban Forge Virtuatecture and it’s exactly what every creepy circus character needs. The Pride dress is by Blue Blood, it’s red hems giving the impression of having waded through… red dye. Obviously. What else?

The Vapor necklace is by House of Rain, a new gothic jewelry shop providing modifiable mesh jewelry to all your darker moods. The Unheimlich ear gauges by CoLLisions worked perfectly with the necklace, both twisting in delightful curves. The lace mask by Izzie’s is not from the hunt, but it was so fitting that I had to use it. You can find it in the Summer Beauty Festival.

Oh My Goth!

May is the month for goths this year! The WGD Nightstalker Hunt has already started and runs through the whole month. The starting point is here. The World Goth Fair will open on 15th May, so the hunt is an excellent way to kill time while waiting. I took the picture before my week of no internet, so none of it is from the hunt or fair, but I wanted to pose with the posters, so pose I did~

Frills and Feathers

Oh, and ribbons, but they don’t alliterate with the others, so no title for them! Seriously, when I saw these Prudence boots by Lassitude & Ennui, that’s all I could think of. More ribbons! They made me think of dark gothic slightly period style, but I assure you that they go perfectly well with cutesy modern ones, too!

To my great delight Blue Blood has a -50% sale on all the non-RFL items in her booth in Jungle Bungle. This Coppelia-dress was one of them. Why yes, the theme was ribbons and feathers. I sauntered into Shadow’s Claw in the Faire to take the pictures. All the engraved stones and runes and obvious darker side of magic worked perfectly for this character.

Lounging against the sacrifice stone to show off the boots better. Admire the ribbons! There are obviously several different colour options available in Jackal’s Faire booth in Jungle Bungle and lavender ones in the RFL-vendor. The boots will be available in her main store after the Faire.

The Hawk-hair is one of the new releases by Wasabi Pills, available in the Faire in The Tides. It crowned the look without needing anything as obvious as actual metallic objects. We all know that vampires surely have long, flowing, perfect hair, right? It’s practically in the manual.

Early Shop Catches the Goth

So there I was, making creepy carnival characters for Bronxie when I got an urge to blog them, too. This is all about that urge. This is also all about why I was making the said looks. See, there will be World Goth Fair in May (15-31) and the sims are themed around dark carnival. The fair is about all things goth, not just carnival, but there was a need for creepy posters so I poked my inventory until these characters fell out.

This is obviously not any sort of official poster, just my own fiddling to have fun with the looks. For any official information, please keep an eye on the News from the Loft. As for the title of the post: I know this is too early a warning for shoppers, but this is prime time for the shops to sign up for the fair. The booths are running out fast, especially the bigger ones, so you might want to hurry! Your shop doesn’t have to be gothic to sign up, only the content you bring to the fair has to be appropriately dark. Oh, there’s also a related hunt for the whole of May and for that your shop should be gothic.

The Return of Sun

No, not really. There’ll be snow still for a few months, but you can always hope, right? So here’s the first sort-of-spring post of the year with bonus squee-critters.

The mesh dress is from a wonderful new shop called Geometry, so far available only on Marketplace. All mesh with free demos. It’s not very Sonya and I did have to drag her boob slider down by pretty much half, but I had to show off the texturing! I have very rarely seen textures this good and varied in mesh clothes. I do hope there’ll be separates later.

The various whimsical creatures and items are from a hunt in Drowsy. I wandered most of the day in the sim today, looking for the books and admiring the creativity and prettiness. It’s definitely worth a visit, even if hunts were not your thing. They do have shops with similar cuteness overload, too!

The jewelry is the latest subscribo gift by Finesmith and the zebra tights are a freebie in *Sheer*. As for the adorable little house with the yard, I grabbed it from the closing sale of Modest House. The Wasabi Pills hair is from March Mesh Madness and has a wonderful vintage feel to it. It’s important to be classy even when you’ve had just a sip too much to drink, after all~

Thief of Time

Fashion for Life has started and this year the sims are themed around time. I got a giggle out of finding Finnish aika amongst them, although the event itself is of course very serious. I’m sure you all know about the old Relay for Life events, benefitting American Cancer Society. This is them, just rebranded. In the spirit of time and finding the cure, I give you a thief of time: stealing it for those who need it most.

The latex Scorch outfit by Dare Designs makes the perfect look for a superhero fighting cancer. The precious time in her hands is actually a ring from the “It’s Time” set by Tres Beau.

As for the arcane portal she uses to travel through space and time, it’s the Twisted Hunt prize by Snow Bound. It comes with smaller portals and instructions how to link them together to use it all as actual portal system in your home sim.

While she works to give people more time it’s up to others to find the cure. Go shop. It’s definitely worth it.

52 Colours: Avocado

Miss Avocado turned into a snake lady in search of the forbidden fruit, which surely must be her namesake. For once I found the correct tone from my inventory and after seeing the slightly muted dark green of this snakeskin dress by Sn@tch, the rest of the look pretty much created itself.

I knew finding an avocado tree was more than a needle in that infamous haystack, so I settled for this gorgeous fantasy-inspiring forest in Wanderstill, Ode. It’s not Miss Avocado’s fault she’s not too familiar with flora, she’s a predator! More interested in fauna, except for that one specific fruit…

Between the mask, the shoulder boa, the dress and the hair decoration snake, one could almost sense a theme. I do rather like snakes, at least in pixel format. I’m obviously more wary about the real ones, but I do not fear them. I think they are beautiful. Speaking of the boa, it’s by LeLutka and I got it last spring from the Project Fur Japan event, so I’m not sure if it’s still available. I do hope so, it’s gorgeous and oh so handy for so many different fantasy styles.

52 Colours: Dandelion

Miss Dandelion kept me guessing and browsing shops for a good while before her personality took form. I disregarded fairies and flowers after I realized that beside sort of eighties t-shirt colour, the colour also reminded me of superhero costumes. After a long search I realized that all the latex and spandex yellows were way too neon bright, so I had to come up with an alternative and then… this happened.

Bodysuit, tights and boots are practically a superhero costume, right? I imagine Miss Dandy Lioness is a magician in the same fashion as Zatanna. Not just tricks! …yes, that’s her name. A friend of mine asked if I was going to make a dandy lion and after the superhero idea occurred, it was obvious that that is -exactly- what I was making.

I cheated with the hair. I usually run around in blacks, so I most definitely did not have the exact cartoonish yellow hair in my inventory — if this tone even exists out there. I took an Exile hairdo and simply dyed it to rgb-tone of dandelion. I also edited it a little to make it work with the hat. So much love for modable hairs. <3

I took Miss Dandy Lioness to Alexander Theater for the pictures and fell in love with the ceiling with all the colours and a handy trapeze. The reason why the hat stays on is that it’s a -magic- hat, of course. By Illusions, as is the wicked bad kitty mesh mask.

I decided that the magician would travel with a flying dandelion by No Strings Attached, a bit like Mary Poppins and the umbrella, except more fun! Her costume is mainly a mix of Peqe’s golden bodysuit and Lassitude & Ennui‘s Selene-boots in blaze.

Taking flight from the roof of the theater, new adventures await!

52 Colours: Folly

Miss Folly is a succubus. What else could she possibly be with Valentine’s coming up, with a tone of raspberry-crimson and a colour called that?

She flirts with death in extremely literal sense, or perhaps the skeleton offering her his heart is her latest victim. Either way, he completed the image. He’s a prop by ImmateriA and he might easily by my favourite prize from the Tainted Love Hunt.

The Red Devil Lady outfit by Bare Rose had perfectly fitting tone, although I stripped a lot of its attachments away for a cleaner silhouette and switched the hooves into an old hunt prize from Malfean Visions. The vampiric pale skin with blood stains is by LAQ and I added a make-up by Nuuna to it for extra red and lethal seduction. I needed a wickedly big hair so I fell back to my first hair-love, Sky Everett. How I wish she’d make more! The sophisticated claws are provided by Mandala. Yes, they are ‘normal’ prim nails, I just never really got into the whole prim nail thing so they look perfectly fitting succubus material to me!
