The Importance of Coffee

I confess, I’m a coffee-holic. If I’m afk it is most likely because I’m making more of it. The sweet soothing nectar of the gods that doesn’t ever keep me awake against my will, but without which I’d be yawning constantly. What? I live in a country that is pretty much dark for half a year! We need our coffee!

Thus I’m sure no one is surprised about how much I squeed at the Cafe Hunt. Not only was it full of wonderful cafe setting furniture and noms, there was also maid and waitress outfits all over the place. This particular one by izm. was my favorite, though. The tights by Latte and boots by Lassitude & Ennui were not a part of the hunt, I just added them to complete the look for the awesomeness reasons. The vintage home cafe is by Greeny Beetle, the monkey purse by Epic and the pitcher and the furniture by Baffle!, all from the hunt.

I wanted to also make a look for a customer, and she ended up being rather high vintage style. The Pizazzle mini dress is by {bilo} and the Exile hair and Atomic skin are both from the current Dressing Room Blue. The fascinator is from LaGyo’s sale — at this rate I will own the whole Mademoiselle line soon. The ridiculously delicious looking sweet strawberry pancake tray is by Poche, the coffee break picture by (meberry) and the cafe counter by Zacca.

The skin by Shiva and glasses by Air are from the hunt, but the hair by Love Soul isn’t. I was just in bobbish mood again, so both women ended up in one. Both of them also have Pulcino’s hunt prize eyes, just in different colours. The real star of this particular picture is the cheese cake tray by Nonino, though.

The gorgeous colour-change necktie by Lassitude & Ennui is a hunt prize as well. The earrings by Miel (subscribo-gift) and fine gloves by The Secret Store are not, but they completed the look so perfectly. The blue phone with the pose as well as the pose in the first picture are from Olive Juice’s closing sale. So much sadness. The hot chocolate fox by [D]oki that I’m pretending is coffee might help in cheering anyone up, though.

Especially on these Cafe Gamma storage room seating and display by KUE!, I added only some kitchen tools by Bitter Vanilla into the scene. The barista is enjoying her coffee from a red bunny cup by Naminoke.

Treat or Treat?

We don’t have Halloween in Finland. Not really. We do have pyhäinpäivä, which has basically same roots, but it’s the day to visit graves, bring candles and such. Nothing to do with the witches, tricks or treats. These days there are Halloween-parties in Finland, but it’s a very late commercial, global addition to the culture and mostly just for kids to have an extra candy-day. This is one of the many reasons I absolutely love Halloween in SL, of course. <3

To make a proper Halloween Feast I visited Poche and raided all their noms! If you’ve never been there, do go and check out -everything-. A lot of the freebies are just clickable objects around or sold in vendors in the side booth. I always get cravings when just -looking- at their stuff, yegads. The adorable autumn-appropriate collar is a subscribo gift by SoliDea FoliEs and the cutesy bunny-face tattoo layer is a hunt gift by JeSyLiLo. I was there to do another hunt and grabbed this one because I always find all the other hunt objects before the one I intend to. Sonya’s default-look of League-skin, Poetic Colors-eyes and Redgrave lashes work as the base and the hair underneath the witch hat is by Elikatira, who is having a sale until Sunday!

The feast got overrun by roos! Fine, fine, I set it up just for them. The dryads will retire soon, after all. Figured they could nom their tummies full before running back to mythical forests of roodom somewhere out there. The pumpkin and candles decoration behind Pihlaja and Talvi is by LISP Bazaar from Zombie Popcorn Hunt. The table is an old hunt gift by Nonino and everything on it is either roos or noms by Poche. The fancy red ring on the Roo Witch is by .( bewildebeest )., because I’m apparently incapable of making a look without Coyo’s shinies. The nom-stealing pose is by No Strings Attached.

The rest of the outfit is composed of a dress by Riddle (in the Knitting Circle Bake Sale), shoes by Romance, tights by Latte and an old witch hat by Grim Bros. The broom is by Little Heaven, and not available anymore. The hay cart by Kusshon and the tree by Glitterati are both from the Seasons Hunt. With Halloween drawing near, a lot of the hunts will end as well. Make sure you’ve grabbed everything you want to!

Break from Summer

Soon. I don’t know about you, but I sort of have virtual bikinis and sunglasses coming out of my ears and I’m waiting for the autumn, jackets, tights and boots. However, it is still summer and way too hot so more bikinis it is! I’m also forced going to take a little break from blogging due to a family trip north that’ll last pretty much a week. I’ll yoink computer usage enough to post the new colour during the weekend, but no SL until I come back. Withdrawal.

Enough of that. I did say more bikinis, right? Swimwear, whatever.

This particular bikini and the skirtsy thing are by Viviane Fashion from Summer Feeling Hunt. The strawberry planter by HC Creations and the birdhouse by JoHaDeZ are from the same hunt. The noms and the picnic table in the background are by Nonino, from SwayLand’s Summer Hunt. Hair is the old LeLutka freebie from the Hair Fair.

It’s not a bikini per se, but seriously: it could be. One of the loots from the late gift-shower by The Plastik. The henna tattoo is by Fallen Gods Inc. from Tropical Nights Hunt. Necklace is by .( bewildebeest ). and the hair & sunglasses is an old lucky chair prize by Waka & Yuki. Pose is by Niqotine Poses. As for the barbeque kitchen in the background, it’s by Zacca and all the noms on it by ToRiCo, all of it from the SwayLand’s Summer Hunt. The beach shack is by Tee*fy and it was a prize in the Seasons Hunt. Skin by League and eyes by Poetic Colors as usual.

La Vie Kawaii~

Also called ‘how we moved from a gothic manor into a garden cottage and squeed~’. Now, I’m going to try to pretend that this isn’t a completely self-indulgent post about home and hearth and bunnies, and all the avatars who run around in the said home, but… yeah. But hey. I am filling a gaping hole in the blog-verse by blogging about garden and yard items! There is so much awesome out there on the grid and no one ever blogs about it. I shall! Oh so reluctantly, yes. *coughs*

So let us start with the girl trio running amok on the grounds, here comfortably posing on top of the bubble chairs from Happy Mood~

The background scenery you see in every picture is this awesome megaprim with windy moors on it. It’s from Two Moon Studios and keeps up our immersion of not at all being situated near random shops or other people. Noes, we live in solitude (and cuteness) somewhere far, far away. The hills with big trees on them are also from Happy Mood. As for what we’re wearing… on the left is Sonya with Rotten Toe dress, Grim Bros shoes, C&D Benelli tights, Nightshade neck ribbon, Curious Kitties hair, Bastchild wrist corsage, Djinn & Tonic skin and an umbrella from Weather! or Not?. In the middle is Loki in Frick skin, Vixen hair, Brocade Tiger pants, Grendel tattoos, Phoenix Designs boots, Rag Dollz leg pistol & strap, CatniP bracers, Haven Designs top, Manna belt, Belle Belle goggles properly on her eyes and other pair of goggles from Hat Mechanic around her neck, because you can’t have too many goggles! The yard is wonderful place for lounging about and having picnics. Who needs a kitchen table when you can do this?

That’s Loki and Sonya and a poor SL-bugged Happy Mood bunny. That or he’s getting into the Ozimals-mood and has decided he’s a mutant with black ears. <.< I’ll get into what we’re noming in just a moment, but first look at the scenery. How pretty is that? There’s mushrooms from New Trails, trees from Fox Labs, sparkly bubble chairs from Happy Mood, elven light tree branch thing from Forest Floor and of course the magically lit ground which is a mix from the products of Happy Mood and iTuTu. Sonya’s pose is from Ana_mations and Loki’s from Niqotine.

The lovely Japanese lunchbox setting is from Love Soul. It has two different caterings that you pick by touching it. The sushi roll mats (one open, one rolled) are from Sanu, the cookie jar is from Magic Nook and gives cookies when you click it, the tray is from Kinema no Tsuki, the coffee pot on it from Oblonski and the apple pie slices and cups on it from Falln. Sonya is wearing frilly shorts by LeeZu, top by Sn@tch, Waka & Yuki hair, Yabusaka sandals, Djinn & Tonic skin and a nom in her mouth is from Sanu. Loki is noming on a mousie mouth cupcake by Sanu and is wearing Maschienenwerk skin, Discord Designs hair, Peppermint Blue top, DV8 capris, Truth shoes, Ginza necklace and her practically trademark tattoos from Grendel’s Children.

Not everyone is happy with all this sparkly cuteness, of course. It is not, how shall we say this… very manly. *grins* Here we have Janos sulking at the fence, refusing to go to the guuuuuuurly area. Obviously the bubbles might give him cooties.

This from a guy with a panda cupcake on his shoulder… anyways! He’s sulking behind a fence from iTuTu, the inviting lanterns are from Zacca and they frame the path from Fox Labs. The flowers are from iTuTu and the trees in the distance are from Fox Labs. You all know by now that the bubbles are Happy Mood. ^_^ Janos is wearing an awesome sad panda tee from Before Sleep, panda cuppycake on his shoulder from Sanu, GQ Fashions pants, Discord boots, Kosh belt, Nosotr@s tattoos on his arms and Sassy Kitty Designs gloves. His skin is from Corrupted Innocence, pose from Snooky’s Poses and hair from Black Maria.

Even Aleksander, who has reluctantly set all this cuteness down for us, more or less escaped to the roof when requested to pose within it. Eventually he agreed to do sort of royal pose, especially after Vanis said he’d help the impression with a bodyguard pose! He’s obviously an elven assassin protecting the Black King. <.<

Now, the only exception to the rule is of course Vanis. He doesn’t object to the sparkles, he thinks they accentuate him! This is why when Aleksander turns his back, Vanis sneaks off to woo his protegee. Or some such. Yesyes, we have way too much with all of this. *grins*

Athelia called this combination of looks ‘seducing angels down from heaven’. It was pretty appropriate, I must say. Athelia is all ethereal in a gown from Evie’s Closet, wearing Trap skin, ETD hair and Illusions ears. Vanis, on the other hand, is very much flesh and blood in his Excess skin, Calico Ingmann hair, Buried ears and DeLa armwarmers. He’s also wearing RFyre pants, Blitzed belt and tattoos. The snake one around his neck is from Demise, the arm ones are from Crimson Shadow.

Here’s the inevitable result of the dancing, of course. Athelia’s gown might have turned red, but it is still from Evie’s Closet! Not that we love Evie’s gowns or anything, noes. <.< Her now-black hair is from Sky Everett, but otherwise she’s the same. Vanis returned to his demented colour palette with the Excess hat hair and League gloves. The summer festival decorations are from Nonino, the tree and hill are from Happy Mood, lantern from Zacca, white flowers from iTuTu and red flowers from MiaSnow.

It’s needless to say that I’m of course having a blast with the surroundings and enjoying the looks, no matter what the boy avis say. Who knows, we might get some sort of steampunk gear factory or scifi ship the next time Aleksander rips the whole sim apart and builds anew, so better enjoy it while we can!
