Remorseless Rose

She is another archetype of female villains: the beauty with a touch of insanity in her eyes. Or more than a touch. There’s always a smile, soft words, warm, decadent tones of colour, strong perfume lingering about the scene… and the smile.

She’s often unhinged, often obsessed about something, regularly portrayed as possessed and supernatural. She mixes girly dresses and innocent beauty styling with that glint in her eye that suggests a dagger hidden behind her back. She’s the villain who murders people, then sets them around a tea party with dolls, humming while serving cake.

Perhaps it’s the contrast between beauty and brutality, innocence and insanity that makes the combination so popular. The childlike manners make the murders all the more creepy, but oh so very successful in captivating our imagination.

Zodiac: Gemini

Gemini — the Twins — is one of the duality signs for a good reason. Like the other such signs, it often feels like there’s two people at the price of one. Best (or worst, depending on your point of view) part is that both of them are smart, witty, communicative air signs, whose need to know and find out will keep them talking to accommodate their sharp intellect.

Gemini mind is always on the move and requires challenges. It might get distracted by another challenge before completely finishing the first task, though. Focus, especially when it requires monotonous, patient tasks is not Gemini’s strong suit. She wants to find out new things, investigate, talk about them, ask questions, let her mind dance around the refreshing influences.

Although also one of the mutable signs, Gemini tends to find balance between seeing both sides of the coin and compromising and finding a way not to give in too much. She’s great at understanding problems, situations and people: at least intellectually, when not too much emotions are involved. Like all air signs, she flitters away from the darker, deeper seas, preferring the lightness of air.

Gemini might often feel like a modern version of Jekyll and Hyde, with their proper and extremely wild sides wrapped in one person. The unpredictability shows in their looks where they prefer one thing one day, another the next, like their wardrobe was put together by several people. In a way it is, for The Twins do love to shop.

Have you ever wanted a band shirt in SL, but knew that any band merchandise that you’d might be able to find would most likely not have any connection to the band nor have any sort of permission of theirs? Worry no more for World Goth Fair is here with 34 perfectly licensed band shirts!

All the included bands have given their official written permission to use their band logos in these shirts. They are sold from gachas, all the funds go to Sophie Lancaster Foundation and the gachas are available only during the fair. There’s a separate gacha for men and women’s shirts, all the shirts are black (what other colours could we possibly need?), every prize includes all the sizes and there’s 34 different shirts to be won.

The band shirt gachas are available in both sims of World Goth Fair: Cursed and Port Seraphine. Get Your Goth On in Gothika!

Today is World Goth Day! This means that Club Gothika in World Goth Fair will be having a party of fourteen hours. Yes, fourteen. Seven DJs, seven different gothic themes, ridiculous amount of prizes with the winner takes it all principle and all around gothic entertainment.

I’ll be hosting the Best in Vampire party at 2-4pm SLT for DJ Acerose Razor and decided I liked my hostess look so much that I’d blog it. The ruins behind me are where the party will occur, right in the middle of the WGF Cursed. The first shift starts at 10am SLT and the party eventually stops fourteen hours later at midnight SLT. City Dragon

Surely they have adapted and camouflaged into human societies, the dragons. Shapechanging is a trivial trick to them and walking on two legs in a smaller, less scaley form is considerably more peaceful for one’s state of mind: the amusement that comes from frying suicidal knights can last only a few centuries, at most.

Humans provide much more entertainment when they think you are one of them, after all. They share so many similar personality traits, too. All the primitive attempts to gather hoards, the lust for power and gold, the clever games they play with each other… much better entertainment than the repetitive damsel-stealing just to see what they’d do this time.

The best part of it all is that these days one could walk around with wings and claim it being an especially designed movie-prop that one purchased from eBay and the humans would be in awe. No one would pick up as much as a single sword. In comparison small horns are a fashion statement!

The said fashion statement horns by .{Rue}. can be found in the We Love Role-play event. The rest of the city dragon look is mostly by Zibska, with the addition of the red clutch by [HANDverk].

Airship Angel

Perhaps from the more gaming style of fantasies than traditional, but still as fantastic as the oldest of them. The airship angel might not be related to any planar realm, but she still flies perfectly fine. Either an airship or with her own wings!

Co-Pilot and Familiar Red Mage Owl comes in handy for navigational instructions and the airship angel managed not to crash into anything while flying! What? Owls have an excellent eyesight to be scouts with, especially magical ones.

Or perhaps the pair simply cheated and never flew at all, simply posed for pictures. Maybe the ship flies with angelic energies and does not even need to be guided, simply willed to travel.

Dwarfin Encounter

This is a story of a reporter elf planewalking to a realm where the dwarfins live to write about these industrious beings. The dwarfins are a young race and the only sapient one of their world, created by the God of Stone, Andronicus, to be the caretakers of the world.

Although Andronicus himself was imprisoned for the crime of creating life on his own and without the cooperation of the other gods, he still manages to send instructions to his beloved creations, who have finally broken out from the mountain they were originally enclosed in. The dwarfins found this unusual rock shape nearby the cave they broke out of and took it as a sign from Andronicus himself, now showing respect to it and praying to it, hoping the god will hear them and how much they miss being with him.

It seems that the dwarfin wizard was not at all appreciative of the planeswalking long-legs elf and transformed her into a more fitting size! She put aside the quill and papers and picked up an axe, here practising a sneer of attitude. Running with an axe should be left for dwarfins though, don’t try this home! If you happen to gain a dwarfin shape for a moment though, why not? Everyone should be a small stout person with an axe at least once in their lives!

Dwarfins have journeyed to Fantasy Faire for a visit and can be found in Lumenaria. The wizard and enchantress dwarfins are garbed in RFL colours and sold to benefit Relay For Life, similar to the new interactives: magic book and Andronicus Stone and the new dwarfin avatars, like Rinn Rockbeard in the last picture.

If you end up doing the Key of Hope Hunt, you can get the wizard and enchantress dwarfins as avatars, looking just like their normal dwarfin counterparts above. As for Rinn and her friend Rorek, the non-avatar dwarfin versions of them are for sale in the auction at the Faire as One of a Kind transferable dwarfins.

The Silence of Yuale Nura

Its frozen, wintry beauty is breathtaking. Or breath-freezing, as winters tend to be. The elven enclave in the treetops of Evensong Woods glows softly in the night of blues and purples, silent and peaceful.

That peace is carefully guarded by the local wood elves, who keep a close watch on any visitors to see how they behave. Perhaps they simply want to make certain no one falls off the bridges or disturbs a hibernating bear with shouting, but perhaps there is something bigger slumbering in the cold.

Whatever the reason for the maintained frozen silence, the elves will never tell. The only response you’ll get is a small smile and a nod of acknowledgement before the polite encouragement to keep your voice down.

One thing elves do not have to worry about at the moment is gear. Waiting for Fantasy

For that moment when reality blurs and changes, for when you truly look around and see everything in such detail that reality becomes surreal.

Bathed in a light from another realm, the realization turns you around slowly — half hoping, half fearing — to meet the horizon. An inhale, a smile, a step forward to breach the barrier between worlds. Abandon the pragmatic precautions, dare to leap. Who knows when the horizon will call again, when the door will next open?

It is almost here: Fantasy Faire. The week in our second lives when we are invited to immerse ourselves into the Fairelands, to expand our minds, to open our eyes to see what was always there, to magnify our souls. To try out new things, to taste the adventure, to feel the rush of excitement and to find peace.

The Fairelands will open their inviting portals on Saturday, 20th April. The breathtaking Starfall dress by The Muses can then be found in the Faire, in Crimson Fields. The fitting poses by Musa will be available in Magnificat.

Busy Mode

Sometimes life resembles juggling more than anything else. Keep everything in motion, one part at a time, one movement after another. Don’t think, don’t analyse  just keep going. Catch the umbrellas before the wind pulls them away. Or the privateering bunnies hijack them as an impromptu airship flotilla.

There’s a rhythm to juggling — or keeping all your thoughts balanced and somewhat grounded — if you let one escape you’ll be spending all your time chasing it and when you get back to the others, they’ve floated away as well. Don’t lose focus, stick to the rhythm, don’t let anything distract you.

If everything else fails: prioritize and have a cup of coffee, then start all over. The coffee will help.

The parasols by HANDverk and the poses by PictureThis! are available in Pose Fair until April 14th. You can find the umbrellas in Exposeur’s booth, since they were designed for those poses. I just had too much fun juggling air flotilla bunnies instead of using them as intended. The Bells II hairstyle by Alice Project is available in the current round of FaMESHed.
