Goodbye to Colours~

At least until January, that is! Luna Jubilee’s 52 Weeks of Color Challenge is now officially over, but worry not, there’ll be a second round of the fun starting in January! She suggested we’d do a mosaic picture of our own fifteen favourites, but I had also been planning for a crazy colour mix post as the last one for a while, so I did both.

In the end the New Year’s hair by Exile was so explosive and attention-demanding that I had to tone down at least some of the clothes. But only some! The point was to try and mix a lot of colours all crazy-like together, after all. I used one of the rainbow make-ups by M.O.C.K. Cosmetics, cosmic dream eyes by Poetic Colors, the usual Redgrave lashes and League-skin. I pondered about wearing a skin with complete colour-mix, but in the end I wanted the pictures to look like it was -Sonya- wearing a lot of colours, not a new character. The necklace by [soap] and crayon-in-mouth by Sanu crowned the insanity.

One last splash of colour… the squee-worthy gigantic easel with poses by WetCat and the house in the background by Modest House are both old hunt prizes. The cute colour-fest boots are by Lassitude & Ennui, the skirt and gloves are by League, the tattoo sleeves by Katat0nik, and the attempt to balance the storm of colours is divided between top from a Hyper Culture dress and tights from an old Le Look promo.

Here’s my fifteen favourites! Luna had linked a nifty tool to make mosaics with if you had used Flickr for the colour challenge, but since I never did, it was just easier and faster to compile this in PhotoShop. My favourites were actually not based on colour, but based on the characters that I created for these colours. I had so much fun creating all these different personalities and looks to work with them that I had to pick them above the others. There’s bronze, banana mania, ecru, teal, sky blue, denim, celadon, electric lime, moss, umber, neon carrot, mahogany, periwinkle, olive and mulberry. I have the colour challenge as a separate category on the right side bar, should you wish to hunt their posts down.

Time for a break, no more desperate inventory-digging or colour-shopping for a few months! …I know I’ll miss it.

52 Colours: Banana Mania

Wot. This is a colour? An official, actual colour? Banana Mania? …aaalright then. Obviously it’s the banana -after- it’s been peeled, sort of soft beige-tan-nude in tone. Just as obviously I had to do something silly for a colour that’s named like that. Originally I had all kind of ideas of banana phones and whatnot, but… honestly, the softness of the colour itself was clashing badly with anything stronger, so I had to go with Plan B.

Here’s Miss Banana Mania, although she’s so much trouble that I think we’ll just call her Bania for short. We encounter her right after she’s been pressing her nose against the glass of the fish tank and has whirled around all innocent-looking. “What mermaid in my mouth? Oh, THIS mermaid? No idea how it got there! …I’ll put it back. Just turn your back first!”

The fish tank is from Dark N Crazy Furniture Designs, the fishies swimming in it are from 7 Seas Fishing (I placed their transparent fish tank inside the visible fish tank and then copied random fishies over). The background is from a cute skybox by Kis Kis (used to be NUT). Miss Bania is made out of a skin by Imabee, hair (& hat) by Curious Kitties, eyes by MaXeyes, lashes with colour splashies by Dimbula Rose and animal face tattoo of cuteness by JM:Mai. Oh, and adorable butterfly tattoo by Minajunk, nail polish by The Laughing Academy and geek finger tattoo by Soap. She’s wearing a top by Wretched Dollies and a skirt by Oyakin. The necklace is by Bombard and the poor mouthie nom mermaid is by Evie’s Closet. The pose is by Kristen Pick.

Luna warned us that there’ll be several strange colours in a row, so let’s see what the next week will bring…

Time for More Popcorn!

“Did you hear? The second Zombie Popcorn Hunt has started! Oh, I finished it already, it’s full of awesome stuff. 84 shops, hints provided on the website as well as more sneak peeks and there’s a helpful in-world group to guide your shuffling steps, too!”

The amusing brick cell phone that I’m calling from is from Soap. The couch is from Kosh and the fun photo box is from Slash Me Poses. I used it for all the pictures in this post. This particular gossiping zombie girl is made of skin by Garage, eyes by Glam Affair, hair by Exile and rings & nails combos by Virtual Insanity. She’s wearing a dress and gloves by Acid & Mala, leggings by Leaks and necklace by Loulou&Co.

“Hunting? But I barely just managed to find my heart! I’m not leaving this room until I get it stitched back! Every morning same damn thing and I’m not even dressed yet! …oh, and have you seen my eye anywhere? No? Dammit.”

This little zombie didn’t go to market, but she has an awesome heart and ripping wound on her chest by Olive Juice. The pose is a part of the photo box, though. She has skin by Djinn & Tonic, eyes by Repulse and super fun zombie hair by CriCri. It has bloody bandages! She’s wearing a classy lingerie set by Glam Affair — once you clean away the blood layer it’s practically pin-up! She also has a lip piercing by Plastic Flowers and a mouthie chain by Calypso Giano. It has a script to change the letter on it so you can make a mental note on who to nom next~

“I’d love to hunt, but I’m sort of pinned down right now… gimme a moment to wiggle through this voodoo pin and I’ll be right over!”

I know, I know, I have a strange liking to demented ballerina doll looks. This little golden zombie dolly is made of skin by !Imabee, eyes by MADesigns and hair by Zanda. I really like that hair, despite it leaving most of her skull bald — something that I usually run screaming away from. It has awesome vintage feather hairpiece and it’s just so quirky combination that it’s practically irresistible. She’s wearing a dress by Rotten Toe, jewelry set (earrings & necklace) by Caroline’s Jewelry and mouthie thingie by Acide. The y-stitch on her chest is by Love Zombie and the voodoo pin with the pose is a part of Del May’s voodoo pin collection.

“Bloody excuses! I’m getting us out of here and then you’re all coming with me. Then we hunt. …oh, and maybe pick up some of those prizes, too.”

No box can keep a determined zombie down! …I mean in. Anyways! The chair and the pose with it are also a part of the Slash Me Poses hunt prize. Oh, and see the crack in the glass? Also a part of it. You can choose between the broken glass and a screen. She’s made of skin by Djinn & Tonic, eyes by Repulse, tattoos by Para Designs and hair by MADesigns. She’s wearing a dress by Bubble, but the socks are by Rotten Toe and not a part of the hunt. I just had to add them since they matched so well. Her shoes are by hoorenbeek, bracelet by Blitzed, necklace by Loulou&Co and piercings by Acide (more or less all over the face). Oh, and she has a brain kabob by Concrete Flowers as a future snack with her, holding it in her mouth.

Zombies have escaped! Your turn to hunt them down now~

Geeks FTW!

There’s a Geekgasm Hunt going on. O.O 50 shops, good organization, excellent quality. Join the group and check the notices for a list of SLURLs and hints. Most of the prizes were easy to find, but there were a handful that were challenging enough to require a couple of visits.

And without further ado… here’s some of my favorites!

Of course I had Cappuccino with me in these pictures! He -is- the nerd bunny, after all. He’s busy rolling a ranger here, yesyes. The table is DnD 3.5 Edition Gaming Table from Sweet Agony Designs. The books had links to the online versions of the books and it was more or less fully playable. Wonderful idea and it did make me squee — until I realized its permissions had one of my biggest pet peeves. Non-linked and non-copy. -.- This means that to move the table or to rez it more than once you need to add and place all the books and sheets and dice and things one by one. Sadness.

Avatar Bizarre had Doctor Who (Fourth) hat and scarf! I admit that I’m a bad Who fangirl and haven’t watched the old stuff, but it made me squee regardless. ^^ The ‘Big in Japan’ shirt is from Fab.Pony, the sweater over it from Pig Shop. The plaid shorts are from Cool Beans, the lunchbox from A-Bomb and the glasses — there were lots and lots of them in the hunt, for obvious reasons — are from Ol’Dirty Bastards. Pose is by [face] and I should really be holding the included light saber with it, but my Who-geek rather had the lunchbox.

The skybox is the same in all these pictures and it’s not from the hunt. It’s by Orange Peel and I think it was a prize from Lost My Marbles Hunt since it’s delightfully upside down. I figured it was fitting for the geek theme. So all the furniture you see upside down in the picture is a part of the skybox. Oh, and the Mario mushroom lamps in the background are from Croire.

I know what I’m wearing the next time there’s a crazy-hat-party! Piranha Plant Hat by Intrigue Co. is awesome. Yes, it’s noming your head. ^^ Tetris mini dress and mouthie thing are from Relentless Couture and the G33K spelling necklace from Malizz Yiyuan Creation.

There were no hairs in the hunt gifts, so I’m using my own. The bob from lamb. in the first two (perfect hat hair) and a messier one from Curious Kitties in the last picture. The eyes are from Poetic Colors and not free nor a part of the hunt. The skin is a hunt prize from Skinthesis and the same in all three pics. There were more skins, but this one was my favorite. It’s called Droogette for the reasons that should be obvious with the last picture. Oh, there was also Droog skin for boys included.

These tattoos by Soap were also squee-worthy idea. As for the skin, I removed the prim lashes just to show off the right eye’s make-up. The necklace is from Loulou&Co. The couch is from {what next}, the painting is a part of the skybox. Pose by Pretzel*Poses (not a part of the hunt). Cappuccino is holding a little staff pin notecard thingie from Medley that says: “Hello my name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.” ^_^

All in all it was a geeky-cute theme, wonderful quality, exceptionally well organized (duh, it was done by geeks <.<) and I sincerely hope they’ll do another one later!
