52 Colours: Tangerine

We continue with the nom-theme… I wonder if strawberry will be next? Or mint? As for tangerine, I did an inventory search for ‘orange’ and tried everything I found while keeping an eye on Luna’s sample. This mini-dress by Hyper Culture was pretty much perfect. Not only with the tangerine tone on top, but the rest of the colours it mixed in. Add to that an Elikatira hair with a colour-change band from the sale she had and suddenly I knew exactly who Miss Tangerine was…

Miss Tangerine lives in a debaucherous little Hookah Hangout Skybox by The Sea Hole (Stash Bash Hunt). She loves her snuggly pet snake (LeLutka), noms of all kinds like the orange mousse (Poche) Kärmes is guarding, flowers (Split Pea – Seasons Hunt), music streaming from her Sounds of Nature Earphones (Tweedle), freedom, love and relaxation. You might call her a hippy, you might call her a wiccan, you might call her a gypsy, you might call her a lot of different things, but she’d still share her orange mousse with you~

Miss Tangerine has a skin by The Plastik, eyes by Poetic Colors and lashes by Redgrave. Her earrings are by Bliensen + MaiTai and her necklace by Kosh (from Project Fur Japan). The paint face splatter is by Sanu and the stockings by Vinyl Cafe. The lazy spring bed is by Vespertine (also from Seasons Hunt) and the wall decal is by Cheeky Pea. The glittery balls and pillows under Kärmes are a part of the skybox.

Edit: No, not strawberry or mint, instead we’ll have olive next!

Strawberry Noir

I couldn’t decide whether I should call this Strawberry Tart or Playing with Balls, but for oh so very obvious reasons decided to use something else! I’ve been a good girl and avoiding shopping and cleaning my inventory instead. After a couple of days of that the twitching begins. Surely there are awesome deals, new things, hunts and events going on out there, calling your name? So you open a blog… (dun dun dun)

I sort of blame Luna Jubilee for this. Without her colour challenges there’s no way that anything this pink would survive in the inventory longer than it takes to try it on. But I do love Seldom Blue’s lingerie, even in pink. In fact I’m tempted to go and get this in some more sonya-friendly colour. This particular version was just 10L and a Touch of Sensuality Easter Hunt prize. The lavender hair is the latest freebie by Curious Kitties. The lingerie matching popsicle is by TOSL and from Albero’s Gacha Festival. It came with the matching lip colour, but I rather used the teeth layer by Mynerva for this. Omnomnom~

There’s more noms on the bed — strawberry shortcake set by Poche (lucky board). The lanterns are by Vespertine, red flower vase by UrbanizeD (both freebies) and the bed is by Awesome Blossom (Seasons Hunt prize). The skybox is a group gift from Lo*momo and the pose is by Ks2cool. Since noms were obviously the theme for this, I added the delicious freebie rings by Donna Flora as a back-up reserve for when the popsicle runs out.

After all this pink and sugar I absolutely needed something dark to balance. Pixelated diabetes is a srs matter, oyes.

Immediately feeling better! The light box setting with poses and the glowing ball props is by Glitterati, from Best Selling Creations Hunt. Hair is from my favorite scifi hair shop, Mirror. (Used to be Alpha. You know, the one in Cyber Bunker.) Outfit is by Dare Designs and I think I used one of the hunt-prize gift cards for it… latex and spikes so fun together. The skins in both pictures are by ^Re.Birth^, a part of their prize in the Best Selling Creations Hunt. The eyes in both pictures are by Umedama Holic.

…and now back to sorting the inventory, honest. <.<

Spring Flowers

I went to Poche today to stalk their lucky board for delicious strawberry cake noms. I was determined to make a post related to them somehow, but instead I ended up playing with the flower freebies they had. Then I found the fun vine prop & pose by LAP from the Seasons Hunt. Then I decided it needed more flowers… and then I just kept adding and adding…

Yes, the picture is again taken outside the love shack by MiaSnow (Stash Bash hunt). I just love the wooden texture of it on the outside. The table is by LISP (The Seasons Hunt) and the birdhouse is by La Flat (Unknown Hunt). The blue birdy is by Happy Mood and all the flowers in pots and glasses are freebies from Poche.

The worn flowers are a mix of LAP, December and Atomic Bambi with an additional Evie’s Closet wreath (the smaller one). Hair and earrings by Sky Everett, eyes by Poetic Colors, lashes by Redgrave, skin by League and shoes by G Field.

52 Colours: Periwinkle

Periwinkle was problematic. As usual, I had the colour swatch Luna had posted visible while checking my inventory. Some of the light blues were close match, but nothing really clicked. So I went colour-shopping for the first time since the skirt for Miss Ecru. Periwinkle continued to be problematic. The colours that seemed to match ranged from baby blue to pale lilac. In the end I made the decision based on ‘I’ll actually wear this later on’ principle. *grins*

Miss Periwinkle is a mix of spring casual and sophistication. I’d imagine she walks around in the gardens with that hat on while handsome gardeners tend to the actual plant life. There’d be ice tea with a mint leaf in it and fresh strawberries. Chirpy birds and flittery butterflies don’t even have to be mentioned.

Miss Periwinkle is made out of skin by League, eyes by Poetic Colors, lashes by Redgrave and hair by LOQ Hairs. She’s wearing a summery blouse and shorts by LeeZu and a wonderful summer hat by G Field. The cute tiny branch with a butterfly in her mouth is from a lucky chair in Love Soul.  The pose is by Boxed Heroes, one of their freebie Jean Grey ones. The background has parts of the curtains by North West and the bench by LISP visible, both from the Seasons Hunt.

To Merrily Go Around~

I’ve always been amused by the word. Merry-go-round. It’s something I feel we Finns should call them, since we usually have very unimaginatively descriptive names for things, but no. We call them karuselli, aka the Finnishized version of carousel. Apparently the word comes from Italian garosello, ‘little battle’. The whole thing was apparently a form of cavalry training. Who knew!

This wonderful summery carousel is from Kusshon, a prize in the Seasons Hunt. The spring lampions (another wonderful word) are by Nordaris from the same hunt. So is the fun sunroom by Molto Bene! I usually try to take my pictures with very clear settings so the items are visible, but this combination just called for shadows. Beware of green-eyed dollies asking for a whirl~
