The Last Twist

I promise! March and September are always such busy blogging time for me since Twisted Hunt always provides so many fantasy looks. This time I absolutely had to find an excuse to show off this armor by gilded.

I paired it with hooves from Aftershok and skin by Sn@tch to complete the not-quite-human arcane priestess look. The claws by Virtual Insanity crowned the wickedness.

Another reason I love to blog Twisted is that you get the scenery props and furniture for your character from the same hunt! All perfectly themed and colour-coordinated. This time I used mystical ruins by Howling Creations with an ouija-board by Dark 7.

I couldn’t resist playing with all sort of curliques and used one of Mockie’s white fantasy tattoos on the face and strange earrings reaching to the cheeks by Loulou&Co to finish the look. Neither of these is from the hunt, but just went well with it all.

52 Colours: Liver

The moment I saw this week’s colour, I -knew- who and what Miss Liver would be. A colour that at first glance looks like very dark grey (with just a touch of warmth in it) and is named after an internal organ? It’s zombie-time!

Look, she even has a liver for you! Shh, no telling her that it’s actually a heart by Olive Juice, it’s not a good idea to try and teach zombies anatomy. She also has a macabre pretty heart necklace by Little Pricks. The axe lodged in her skull is by ~Sa-eela~, and don’t you worry, she doesn’t even notice it. Um. Maybe that -is- a cause to worry, actually. The pose is by Del May, all of these old hunt things.

The brain juice canister by Virtual Insanity is also from an old hunt. …why yes, yes I have a big zombie-folder in my inventory, don’t you? The pose is by Captivity Co, the creepy shack in the background is by Sugar.Snap.Me and the skin is an old group gift by Red Queen. I added a cracking tattoo layer by Frick to it and used eyes by REPULSE as final touches.

The whole outfit is a mix-match of Sn@tch items. Skirt, leggings and gloves are from voodoo lolli outfit that was in the lucky chair a bit ago and the top is from the current fishing outfit: Mary Potter. Who knew it’d end up on a zombie instead of Hogwarts? Hair is by DURA from Your Inner Bunny Hunt. The too-awesome-for-words scythe is by [OMFG] and I fear they’re not available anymore. Sadness. Pose by No Strings Attached.

So there, Miss Liver being nice and offering you a squishy present in the hopes that you’ll overlook the lack of red tint in her grey. Mind you, if it’s a red tint you want, you came to the right zombie…

Pirate’s Greed

I’ve been feeling all summer-lazy and meeroo-snuggly lately and even managed to wage war versus inventory to get it under some semblance of order. I cleared all the old stuff from my sort-folder and left only things that I knew I’d wanna blog there, waiting for both inspiration and the missing pieces to complete a look. When the inspiration arrived it certainly made me giggle. It also made me combine Skull-n-Bones Hunt and Greedy Hunt. Even when one is about the pirates and the other is about noms.

Here’s some delicious loots! Donut necklace by Virtual Insanity, sammich mouthie by Atypical and the telltale marks of pillaging in the form of whipped cream and berries on her nose by Sweet Leonard & Needful Things. All of that and the eyes by Shiva are from Greedy Hunt. Hair is the LeLutka freebie from Hair Fair and although I don’t usually much like curls on Sonya, this was just so… crazy-wild-cute that it worked for the nom-raiding pirate girl. The flirty pose by .ploom. is also a Hair Fair freebie. Skin by League, lashes by Redgrave, make-up by Mynerva.

The coat is the latest group gift by S H I N E, but obviously the real stars of the picture are the socks by KOSH (retiring items sent through their subscribo) and the shoes by R2 Fashion (old hunt gift). The old barrel home in the background is by United InshCon and the rest of the furniture is by Dreamscapes Art Gallery. Those and the awesome pirate hat by LNL are from the Skull-n-Bones Hunt. If you view the pictures in full size, you might catch a glimpse of the earrings by Zaara and ring by Bewildebeest, too. Can’t have a pirate girl without jewelry, after all~

Corny IV

The fourth Zombie Popcorn Hunt has started! There’s 76 wonderful shops involved and if you join the group you can grab the list of landmarks and hints from the past notices. Begin here. My favorites are from the more strange, dark and quirky offerings of the hunt, but there was plenty of wonderful normal things for everyday use as well!

Obviously you have to have a zombie in a Zombie Popcorn Hunt. This one even -has- the said popcorn although I fear for her coordination. Might be tricksy to get the popcorn out from the small bag, especially with the ickle zombie already noming…

I found the Madworld Park during the hunt and immediately landmarked it to come back for pictures. The zombie girl is wearing an outfit by Severed Garden: armwarmers, armlets, bra, skirt, boots, mouthie and the body scar. I was extremely impressed by it, not only because of the quality but because the resizer script had also stretch options so you can resize it to certain directions only. <3 It was also delightful to notice that they offered both alpha layer and invisiprims for shoes and the tattoo in underwear and tattoo layers. The skin is by Glam Affair, hair by MINA Hair, face blood by V.E.L Cosmetics, zombie stomach wound by Repulse (a part of the first prize of the hunt) and the pose is one of the zombie poses by Captivity Co.

Where you have zombies you also have zombie hunters, it’s the great circle of um… unlife. This particular zombie hunter got an accidental ganguro feel, but I kinda like it.

The hair is not a part of the ZP hunt, it’s by SyDS from the Oh My Stars – April Showers Hunt. The outfit is my second favorite from the hunt, it’s a bloody kimono by Sassy Kitty Designs. Not that you could possibly call that a kimono, except in a very particular anime perhaps. It doesn’t even pretend to have a skirt part by adding a tiny prim. I sort of approve, I hate the teeny tiny prims that will not look good no matter how you set them to fake skirtness. Might as well skip them completely! The outfit comes with a clean version as well and includes shoes, ripped leggings and the chopstick hair pins. The huge three-bladed scythe is by J.I.N.X. and it’s absolutely necessary for a good zombie hunt. The skin is by Filthy and the body tattoo by Arnadi. The spider & web mouthie (what little you can see of it) is by EY:NO and the pose is by Diesel Works.

There’s always some prizes that go into the crazy entertainment of popcorn, stripes and carnival. For this shot I left the park, set out an old hunt prize house by Zacca to work as the background and made a scene with some of the furniture gifts.

The beautiful posing chair is by Tableau Vivant, the black-and-white curtains are by MudHoney and the rest of the bloody couch set is by Noctis. The carnie doll herself has a skin by Nuuna’s Skins, tattoo by Para Designs, top by ANCAYI and socks, gloves and panties by MUKA. The sneakers are by BC322, voodoo doll backpack by Beauty Killer and the tiny tophat by LaGyo. She’s noming a brain munchie by Virtual Insanity and has dropped a movie freak doll by Pinkmare’s House on the floor, although I have a feeling that the doll might start shambling off on her own any moment now. The hair is an old group gift by Curious Kitties and not a part of the hunt. The eyes of all the three girls are by Repulse.

The last day of the hunt is June 15th so you have still a couple of weeks to hunt for popcorn. Get out there and have fun!

Paint it purple~

This post is about two things. First, Paint SL Purple week has started. For a week you can show your support to Relay for Life by wearing purple and/or making your SL purple in some other way — paint your black doors purple for a week! The second thing is that Sn@tch is having a spring sale until Monday. I tried to include this in the title, but ended up snickering at any possible combination and gave up.

These socks have been hovering in my shopping list for a while and were an absolute must-buy purchase from the sale. Especially since they come in a fatpack of colours. The outfit is by Sn@tch as well and the combination was sort of… vintage good girl considering going bad. I added a Virtual Insanity necklace and Violet Voltaire earrings to the look and rezed a skybox by III to work as the background. I mutilated the house for a while by turning huge chunks of it transparent to let the sunlight in. The pose is by Striking Poses.

What did you expect? Obvious result is obvious. *grins* The pin-up stool is by Diesel Works and the feather boa by Callie Cline. I love both. Proper vintage pin-up is so awesome. I set local lights on for the occasion, as well. The dress and gloves are by Sn@tch — another thing I absolutely had to get from the sale. The fishnet tights are by Bad Juju and the shoes are by G Field. I swear I keep all but sleep-porting to G Field all the time to get just another pair of shoes. Just one more. <.< Hair in both pictures is by Waka & Yuki, skin by League, eyes by Poetic Colors, lashes by Redgrave and make-up by Mynerva.

52 Colours: Olive

I actually found several olive things in my inventory, some of them were even labeled olive! I find this surprising. Another surprising thing is that Miss Olive told me in no uncertain terms that she would be kicking some serious behind and would not be sitting pretty in a skybox. So, off to S.I.C49 we went!

Miss Olive is also the first of my colour-girls to get two pictures. She told me she needed two and I didn’t dare to object! The outfit is mostly by Mimikri, except for the velvet tanktop by Sn@tch, fishnet gloves by DV8 and torn fishnet tights by Sheer. The glaring green eyes and the eye make-up are by The Plastik. The fantastic armband with letter-change script nametag (three letters) is by Yabusaka. Skin is by League and lashes by Redgrave, as usual. Pose by Estetica.

Her hair with the headband and skulls is by Urban Assault. The facial piercings by Virtual Insanity are all linked into one item. The shorter necklace is by Loulou&Co and the longer by Little Pricks. Earrings are by Silver Wheel. The face stripes are by YaYo. All of these are old hunt items. Pose by Niqotine Poses.

There’s more windlight and other enhancement play than usual, but the environment just forced my hand! Nothing to do with Miss Olive glaring at me at all! <.<

Twisted Rebirth

“The note is heavy in your hands, heavier than a piece of paper should be. You stare down at the words, wondering just who might be waiting for you in this unfamiliar place. You turn it over, hoping for any other hints, any other help. In small writing you find scrawled on the back,

Near a place reserved for woe,
in a place that’s high but low,
Watch which way the raven doth go.

You ponder the mysterious passage’s meaning. Reserved for woe…wasn’t there a mausoleum nearby? On the other hand…in a place that’s high, this house is so high, could she mean the attic?”

That is how it all begins. A small note in the fireplace, a mysterious hint and off you go, following its trail, making decisions as you go along and dying horribly in several imaginative ways! Although if you’re thorough enough there is still hope… I’m speaking of the mini-hunt ^Re.Birth^ has in addition to their regular Twisted Hunt prize. It’s like those books where you choose your own path and fate. Once you’ve met your fate in one dreadful fashion, go back and try another option! The prizes are skins, eyes, tattoo layers of twistedness and poses, not to mention random props like a map of Innsmouth and Necronomicon…

“After what seems like ages in the winding, dark and sometimes suffocatingly tight tunnels, you come to a chamber. All along the arching stone walls, are faint scratches, you run your fingertips across the slick cavern wall. Unable to make anything out, you turn your attention to the large, sickly green colored statue. It almost looks as if it was carved from the back wall of the stone chamber, as it seems to be almost…growing out of it. However the near luminescent quality of the statue makes that impossible, the stone looks unlike anything you’ve ever seen. At it’s base lies a peculiar book, you kneel down and pick it up. The moment you crack it open, a loud roaring fills the cave, the walls flaring to life, revealing thick, glowing red lettering. The language is foreign though, you shake, clutching the open book to your chest as you turn round and round, trying to take in all the writing at once.

Oh god, they’re real. It’s real…all the horrors that the book in the library described, the unfathomable Elder Gods. A sharp warmth floods your chest and you gasp in pain, dropping the book to the ground. Tearing open your shirt, you see the same glowing, foreign letters that adorn the chamber walls being torn into your flesh. The warm pain sweeps out to your fingers, to your toes and you collapse as it ascends into your face. Laughing hysterically, you reach a now rune riddled hand towards the book, clutching it to your chest once again as you rock back and forth on the cavern floor. As that foreign, now wonderful pain washes over your mind, you smile maniacally. The voices, the beautiful, horrible whispering voices telling you all you need to know, need to do. Yes, yes…there will be blood, and horror, and endless screaming. This world will once again be theirs.”

Here’s one of the endings! Fun, hmm? All the quotes are of course from the game and I took the pictures within it, so for once there’s no skybox-furniture-prop set-ups, but actual in-world photos. A hunter wandered in while I was taking this one, thought I was a prop and clicked me. I was most amused and of course apologized and explained what I was doing there. The dress, glasses and hat are all from the Twisted prize of Dare Designs and just said ‘Victorian Detective of Supernatural Phenomena’ to me. The pose is by Niqotine Poses.

“Out of the corner of your eye, you spy a sliver of white peeking out from the underbrush. You lean down amidst the graves, brushing leaves and dirt away from a discarded book. Only too late do you notice the blood spattered pages, you stand up, a cold chill running down your spine as an unholy chorus of groans rises to your ears. A hand rips forth from the earth, gripping your ankle, you start to run…jerking your body free only to stumble into a cold body. The smell of earth and rotten flesh fills your nostrils, searing pain radiating from your shoulder as the zombie tears into you…it’s too late. You sob, looking up into the sky…hoping just maybe they’ll eat enough of you so you return as they have…return as an abomination.”

Of course you have to have death by zombies! This particular zombie girl has overgrown nail-claws, the Twisted Hunt prize from U&R Dogs. The knife in her chest is by Virtual Insanity, also a Twisted prize. The outfit is a mix of older things, body suit by Ilaya and kilt by DV8. Pose is by No Strings Attached.

“Rowena: Thank you, your kind heart has released me from my torment at their hands. I have no way to repay you, but please take comfort in the knowledge that I am moving on to a better place. You must take great care on your way out, for SHE still awaits in the depths of the house.“

It’s not all hopeless, though! If you’re persistent enough you’ll be able to free the tormented soul of a young innocent girl. And who is SHE, you ask? The one who awaits. Go ahead and play to find out! *grins* I dressed Rowena in the cuteness that is Wretched Dollies, modeling in a fairy pose by Creative Insanity.

Catching Up With Colours~

A year full of colours, perfect excuse to dig into your inventory and play dress-up, different colour every week. That’s more or less the nutshell of LunaJubilee’s 52 Weeks of Color Challenge. She lists a new colour every week. I didn’t even know there were 52 colours, yegads. My colour perception is practically male: light brown, dark brown, what’s the difference? Fortunately she provides a colour sample every time so I can try and match that! And hey, it’ll be randomly educational, too! Not to mention fun. ^_^

It’s week fifteen of the challenge now, which meant I had fifteen looks to cover. To make the post less picture spammy I actually used a photo studio and then just snip-copy-pasted three in one. Since I was lacking in my usual environment creation fun, I challenged myself in another way: matched the styles of the colours per picture. Can’t make it too easy on myself, right?

The first three colours — grey, blue and goldenrod — turned out to be manga-ish school girl characters. Although I think Miss Blue might be a teacher. I started with flailing about if I’d find anything in goldenrod, going ‘That’s a colour? O.o’ a lot until I finally located that shirt. It called for school girlness, so Miss Grey and Miss Blue just had to live with it. All of their poses are from Ks2cool.

Plum was another tricksy one until I did a search for it and found this exact colour sample match hair from my anime hairs folder! Much rejoicing. ^_^ Then I poked around in my lolita folder and found a dress with exact same hue whales on it. Obviously Miss Sepia and Miss Yellow weren’t that difficult to dress up once I had the lolita style decided.

Cerise was one of those ‘This is a colour? Yegads, it’s dark pink!’ moments. I did a search for ‘pink’ and tried everything on and much to my surprise found this vintage lingerie -and- shoes in exact colour sample tone! Who knew~ Miss Green and Miss Silver got to wear lingerie just to match lil Miss Cerise. You can’t really see the shoes on Miss Green and Miss Silver that well, but all three are wearing Grim Bros’s fantastic curlique filled wonders. There’s just something so delicate, decadent and debaucherous in those details. And other d-words.

Two browns in one picture! I divided them in order and when I realized that I’d have two separate browns in this one, I just knew it’d be steampunk. I mean… my inventory is sort of black, black, black, red, black, blue, black, green, lots of browns in the steampunk folder! black. I am so miffed I couldn’t use hya-blue (Silent Sparrow) for the middle girl, but I just could not match it to the colour sample with good conscience. Fortunately I had Sparrow in sienna!

When I realized my last picture had emerald, black and red I more or less squeed. …and then I couldn’t decide if I wanted to make a fantasy picture or a ballet picture. So I made both! It’s like a joke: ‘A dryad, a drow and a demon walk into a ballet class…’ Obviously the demon is more interested in inviting others to dance and the drow claims she can’t dance without daggers, it’s apparently a part of her cultural heritage. The dryad was at least somewhat happy~

Twisting Away~

Yes, it’s September again. Yes, that means there’s another Twisted Hunt going on. Yes, it’s almost October and I’m late with blogging. *coughs* I blame FFXIV beta. In fact, I foresee a lot of non-bloggingness in my future. <.<

But I simply -have- to post something about Twisted! So here, my favorites from this round…

This time the cubes are orange! Yes, that means a lot of orange in clothes and accessories and whatnot. And in this curiously enchanting skin from Leonine. It had tattoos on it and despite being orange it was strangely beautiful. The eyes are from MaXeyes. The hair is from Waka & Yuki and not a part of the hunt. The small dress with enough sheer option to let the body tattoos show through is from DragonLady’s Closet. The choker of skeletal hands is from Goth & Beautiful Designs (and a part of an another outfit). The monocle is from Tree House Treasures and the bone umbrella from Yellow JesteR. The picture is taken in a haunted house from A Netherworld.

The theme of this round’s was Spooky. There were plenty of haunted houses and some ghosts, but of course also witches. The skin from F’ed Up isn’t really that green, I admit having played with the light, but it just worked so perfectly with the look. The eyes are from Nightshade’s gift and the small cobweb tattoo on her cheek from Sassy Kitty Designs. The facial piercing is from Virtual Insanity, hair is from Waka & Yuki (not a part of the hunt) and the hat is from Federschneider. The wings are from Favole, the broom with the kitty from Deviant Designs and the outfit and the boots are from DV8.  The eyeball is a part of a Fleshcrafter’s Sentinel tree from Malfean Visions and the picture is taken in a skybox from Sugar.Snap.Me.

And this is of course the spookiest thing ever. We all know there’s nothing scarier than clowns. Absolutely wonderful avatar from Djinn & Tonic and .44 Caliber. Killer Clown avatars for both genders: skin, shape, eyes, hair, clothes and axe! I’m using Sonya’s own shape in the picture, though, she complains if I change it. <.< Oh, and the rings & nails combo is from Virtual Insanity, the pose from Del May and the picture is taken in a twisted cottage from XIII. On that note, I used lashes from Butterfly Kiss Boutique in all of the pictures. I think they were a part of the Endgame prize.

And that’s all, folks. For now. *grins* I’m not doing any hiatus announcements since knowing myself, I’d get a sudden irresistible urge to blog exactly one week after that, but… if I’m silent for a long time here, you know why!

Time for More Popcorn!

The amusing brick cell phone that I’m calling from is from Soap. The couch is from Kosh and the fun photo box is from Slash Me Poses. I used it for all the pictures in this post. This particular gossiping zombie girl is made of skin by Garage, eyes by Glam Affair, hair by Exile and rings & nails combos by Virtual Insanity. She’s wearing a dress and gloves by Acid & Mala, leggings by Leaks and necklace by Loulou&Co.

“Hunting? But I barely just managed to find my heart! I’m not leaving this room until I get it stitched back! Every morning same damn thing and I’m not even dressed yet! …oh, and have you seen my eye anywhere? No? Dammit.”

This little zombie didn’t go to market, but she has an awesome heart and ripping wound on her chest by Olive Juice. The pose is a part of the photo box, though. She has skin by Djinn & Tonic, eyes by Repulse and super fun zombie hair by CriCri. It has bloody bandages! She’s wearing a classy lingerie set by Glam Affair — once you clean away the blood layer it’s practically pin-up! She also has a lip piercing by Plastic Flowers and a mouthie chain by Calypso Giano. It has a script to change the letter on it so you can make a mental note on who to nom next~

I really like that hair, despite it leaving most of her skull bald — something that I usually run screaming away from. It has awesome vintage feather hairpiece and it’s just so quirky combination that it’s practically irresistible. She’s wearing a dress by Rotten Toe, jewelry set (earrings & necklace) by Caroline’s Jewelry and mouthie thingie by Acide. The y-stitch on her chest is by Love Zombie and the voodoo pin with the pose is a part of Del May’s voodoo pin collection.
