The Gifts of Time

The Fortune Teller brought Gifts of Time to the Fallen Gods Inc. Decennial, the gentle hiss of the sand in an hourglass, the rhythm of the ticks of a clock. He weaved time into stars, into eons of constellations, into gold glowing in the dark space he wove it.

Some of the Deities of Time fell from the depths of space into the bay of Selidor, shedding the dark cosmos for warmer blues of the ocean, stepping out to greet their distant kin.

And some…well, some of them embraced the infinite abyss and its stars, turning to darker hues, yet yearning to explore, reaching for contact, for experiences. In the night they fell like shooting stars, wading out of the bay like shadows, their magics evolved to reminisce the red moons instead of warm sun.

Fallen Gods Inc. Decennial has started! There’s Decennial Market on top of the temple, ~Timeless~ grid-wide hunt going on, and also the Fortune Teller with complete avatar prizes!

The Decennial Market has a shopping guide on Seraphim and is located on the roof of Fallen Gods Inc. main store.

~Timeless~ Hunt takes you through over 50 locations and rewards you with a hoard of prizes in the end. The free HUDs can be acquired either from Fallen Gods Inc. group notices (~Fallen Gods Inc. 10th~ Source of Future Memories) or from several locations in Selidor, here’s one example.

The Fortune Teller is a game where you sit at the Teller with another avatar, and he checks if you two match. If you get 100%, you both win a prize! This year the prize is Chronos Coal Gold avatars (the prize includes both female and male avatars). The Fortune Teller can be found here in Selidor.

Never Truly Gone

We are never truly gone. They think we are but stories, old legends, ancient myths. They call us explanations for the unknown, symbols for the various parts of human life, concepts made easier to grasp. We are. There is no telling if we existed first and helped shape these concepts, imprinted them on the human mind, or if the humans called us to being with their devotion and fervent belief. No telling, nor does it matter.

We rose from the sand: shaped of gold, carrying the living sun in our hearts. We rose, we ruled, we faded into stories. That is the biggest story of them all, the one where we faded. They keep telling it, not realizing that with each telling the sun grows brighter, the hawks fly higher, the minions of Bastet step into your homes and demand your worship.

In each purring sound you hear the desert wind, each dawn reveals the rise of the radiant disk held high, in each story you hear more of the truth. We are always here, every sunrise, every nightfall, every soft step in the alleyways, every shriek in the skies. We were never truly gone.

July 15th – 16th is the Relay Weekend in Second Life. There’ll be events around the clock, and of course the whole track to run and explore. The opening ceremony is at 10 AM SLT on July 14th. Alia brought back a part of the Golden Delta for the track’s Imagine-region, and sooner than later I had to shapeshift to match.

The Wings of Vanitas

Every year the new form takes her by surprise. She knows it’s coming, she can feel the change, the pull, the call, the sheer excitement of anticipation, but she never manages to guess what she will be once the magic in Selidor finishes its work. Some years she grows scales, some years she has a tail and some years she spreads wings to take to the suntouched skies. This is one of those years.

This year the wings are made for preening, not for flying. The skies did not call her up, instead all the flowers on the ground invited her to flourish next to them, to match the splendor. Every step stronger, every twirl more luxuriously delicate, Vanitas finds herself within the stunning sceneries, finds herself as a part of the whole, spreading her feathers not to fly, but to adorn the glory of magic even further.

The 9th Anniversary Festival of Fallen Gods Inc. has started with the Fortune Teller, hunt and rooftop market, soon to be followed with events and celebrations. Keep your eyes on the schedule!

The Sun in Selidor

The sun in Selidor is always warm. The eternal summer embraces all visitors, inviting them to rest on the soft grass and to watch the wonder that is summer sky.

The magic runs deep in the veins of the island, not a remnant of the incarnated gods, but a living, breathing, growing presence. Selidor has a spirit of its own.

It whispers words of beauty to each new deity taking shape in its arms, words of truth from the realm where magic flows as easily as air.

The Fallen Gods Inc. 8th Anniversary Festival week has officially started off! The roof top of the temple hosts an Eternal Market featuring wondrous things for sale (or as gifts), the Fortune Teller inside the temple is still offering free Infinity Sidera avatars for both men and women that find their match, and the week is full of events! Forgotten: City and Its Automatons

We lived on borrowed time, we automatons. Every tick of the clock brought us closer to the point when there would be no more rewinding, where our gears would cease to rotate, where our functions would simply stop.

We were unaware of this. Unlike humans, who know their bodies are temporary and fall into lethal disrepair in time, we thought we were built to last. That if we broke, we could be fixed. If we ran out of energy, we could be rewound.We trusted the City to always be there. We trusted there would always be the machinery and the systems to rewind our clockworks, to fix our broken limbs, to improve on the original design.

We trusted the light to dance in the air, the energy to flow, the magic that is machinery to carry us forward. We trusted the City would be there for us whenever we needed it.

The City is broken. The machinery that fixes us is unable to fix itself. The automatons designed to fix others wander aimlessly on the silent streets. With every passing cycle the City drifts, wavers, fades. Disconnected. Malfunctioning. Defective. Like us, Forgotten.

Forgotten City is closing down in September. If you have never visited this astonishing sim, do yourself a favor and go now. If you’re familiar with it, now is the last chance to revisit its magic. I do not know when exactly the sim will close down, but I felt the automatons had a word to share on the subject.

The Seasons of Persephone: Winter

Summer was always too short. The time to return took her by surprise every year despite the signs beginning to appear: her skin paled, her hair lost its vibrant colour, the summer greens changed to darker winter tones.

The butterflies transformed to small spirits, twirling around her, eager to return back to Hades. Flower decorations became chains and bones, metals and gemstones. 

The blooming lines across her body sharpened into a strong mask befitting the Queen of the Underworld, the one whose name was barely whispered aloud in fear it would call her attention. Call the attention of the one carrying into effect the curses of men upon the souls of the dead.

As the nature quiets into its winter hibernation, Persephone returns to Hades: the realm and the god. She returns and she rules by his side until the awakening spring calls her back to the warmth of summer.

Twilight Delights

It’s strange to bid farewell to the cold lights and dark nights. Winter can be many things, but it is always familiar. It always encourages safety and comfort instead of whim and curiosity. It is also blissfully dark, the lights dancing within it more natural decor than a light source.

Then suddenly the nights are not dark anymore, there’s nowhere to hide, the light has invaded and won the world. Even the creatures of the night have their share of the soft illumination, brushing against the pale skins and dark strands of hair.

Cloaks and coats are removed, flower-scented air inhaled, warmth of the night experienced as the miracle that it is. There’s no greater magic than the one that returns life to us every spring.

No greater magic than the one that turns the dark starlit nights into warm haze of twilight delights and brings forth the sun that never sleeps, the Magic of Summer.

The Critter Adventures in the Fairelands

They arrived on boats, rowing or sailing with determination.

They swam through dangerous oceans, tirelessly snorkeling forward.

They floated down peaceful rivers, sightseeing while traveling.

The cleverest ones even used improvised parachutes.

They came to see faraway relatives, to exchange news and catch up.

They came to meet new friends, to admire art.

They came to pay respect to the Great Heroes of Legends.

Or to shop for items not available anywhere else in the realms.

Or to enjoy delicacies out of our world.

They came to play and adventure.

To have a moment of silent soothing peace with good companions.

Perhaps to even fall in love a bit.

Most definitely to snuggle in romantic scenery.

And eventually, at the end of the day, they came to enjoy the music, to sit down, have a cup of coffee and watch the view.

They came to watch the Fairelands, to live in them for the brief time they are connected to our world. As everyone should.

The critters visited the Fairelands this year. If you didn’t, you have still a couple of days left of completely stolen time. The official program has ended and the Faire is technically speaking over, but unofficially the portals stay open until the magic fades (and the Linden Lab removes the sims). We cannot guarantee when that will happen, but we are guessing a few extra days.

The Truth About Fluffzoid 8

“Explore the dark reaches of the universe! Come see the space bunnies of Fluffzoid 8!” That’s what the ad said. Absolutely irresistible. There was an adventure to be had! Space bunnies to see! No one said a thing about waiting in line. At least there were comfy gear chairs.

“Excuse me, sir, I would like to book an adventure trip to Fluffzoid 8. Yes, I’ll pay extra for guaranteed space bunny observation. Yes, I’ll pay extra for the camouflage cloak to get really close to them. Yes, I’ll pay extra for… what life insurance? They’re fluffy bunnies! Lepus galaxicus pythonae! Why would I… oh alright, if it’s mandatory.”

“Holotickets securely marked on the genetic display, it’s time for an adventure! The trip seems to take place in adorably archaic saucers of beam transport, guess it involves close experiences of the star systems on the way.”
