The Sound of Bones

The sound of the bones is soothing. They clatter gently in the evening breeze, each touch a hollow sound, echoing into the night. 
They know things, the bones. The older they are, the more they know. Secrets long forgotten, secrets taken to the grave, secrets buried deeper than the graves ever were.

If you listen well, if you can hear with more than your ears, you can catch their whispers, the faded words, the forgotten languages.

If you listen to the silences between the hollow sounds you will understand. Understand and be able to ask questions. Ask, answer and to have whole quiet conversations within the dead echos of the worlds; ours and all the others.

“Explore the dark reaches of the universe! Come see the space bunnies of Fluffzoid 8!” That’s what the ad said. Absolutely irresistible. There was an adventure to be had! Space bunnies to see! No one said a thing about waiting in line. At least there were comfy gear chairs.

“Excuse me, sir, I would like to book an adventure trip to Fluffzoid 8. Yes, I’ll pay extra for guaranteed space bunny observation. Yes, I’ll pay extra for the camouflage cloak to get really close to them. Yes, I’ll pay extra for… what life insurance? They’re fluffy bunnies! Lepus galaxicus pythonae! Why would I… oh alright, if it’s mandatory.”

“Holotickets securely marked on the genetic display, it’s time for an adventure! The trip seems to take place in adorably archaic saucers of beam transport, guess it involves close experiences of the star systems on the way.”

“Now to prepare these elderberries as bait and all will be absolutely perfect!”

Gothulon Travel at Futurewave might or might not be able to send you to interesting locations, it all depends on the amount of imagination in your genetic compilation. It is fun to visit, regardless! In case you find yourself confused: it is not a shop, it’s an amusement location for hanging out and taking photos in.

Vanda de Galaxiae

The Blue Orchid of Ganymede, the Andromedean Nova, the radiant Vanda de Galaxiae is the indisputable governess of the kinetic arts.

Her performances hail back to the ancient movements of what was once referred to as ‘dance’, but elevates it to the current standard with the aid of precision programming of her custom-designed body.

The marvels of Vanda’s body provide it motions not usually available to humanoid life, showing that the only limit she has is her boundless imagination.

The lighting is especially constructed blue spectrum from Betelgeuse, a colour palette so loud that de Galaxiae never uses audio-additions in her shows, relying on the shivering humming sensations the blue spectrum causes within bio-organisms.

Vanda de Galaxiae performs at the Orchestration Nebula on the eleventh unit of the local day cycle. Permission codes still available, check your personal holo service.

I wish I could remember the cycles before these last two, but that is the Spinner’s Nature: there is only the Spiral, and the Spiral is always Now.”

That said, I also like to be able to return home, for somewhere within the twists and turns and changes of the Spiral I came into being.”

“Sometimes I wonder if they are always the same, the people. If the Spiral changes only the surface, if the cores are the same, eternally dancing within its serpentine rise. I must compare, document, research. The next time.”

A Clockwork Spiral is turning its last spins and will vanish from our reality on October 1st at 6am SLT. Go catch its last moments before it fades for a year! I have had such fun with the return of the journalist and even more so: being able to see others get into the spirit of the Spiral, wander around, shapeshift accordingly and simply enjoy themselves.

At the Core

Landing at the data core was a remarkable experience. It’s surprising how intact it still is despite all the stubborn attempts of the surrounding world trying to cover it up, grow around it, suffocate it, hide it away… who knows how the global plantmind works.

I managed to connect rather easily to it, just had to make sure not to use any tech newer than from Before Growth. It still had perfectly operational tracking parameters in its routines.

It even had galactic sniffers in it still. Oh yes it did. Intergalactic location coordinators sure made the work of law enforcement easy once upon a time. Just like they now eased my task. Thank you, Ancients!

Now the only problem is to decide which one of the targets to go after first…

Almost all of the look is available in Futurewave that still keeps zooming on at light speed. Code for Club

There’s this club, you see. A really shiny one. Shiny, but dark. Just the way I like it. I want to get in, but it’s early. Way too early. So what I did was called my friend who has certain… experience in adjusting robot protocols and gave him the bouncer’s code.

The bad news is that the bouncers are damn well coded. It took at least quarter of a unit before the ‘apologies citizen you are not authorized in this area please revolve and advance in another direction‘ litanies ceased.

But after that it was all smooth flying! My friend even snuck in a few codes for dancing! Not particularly bendy dancer, but very firm grip.

Psst, while I keep him distracted, all of you can come in and party any time you like!

The best part of this all is of course that the club is real and it’s really a club! Club Gothika’s Mobile Unit in Futurewave is fully functional, operational and such things and you can find their schedule when you scroll to the bottom of this post. Today (Monday) there’s both the builder and the organizer of the whole glowing glory playing for you one after the other!

“Miss Crinoline, do you feel it is safe within A Clockwork Spiral?”

“Of course it is safe! We might have an occasional unsavory increase in population for being the county’s only port in the skies — you know, airship crews and such — but that does not mean we could not upkeep the standards of a perfectly respectable little community.”

“So you would feel perfectly safe to walk the streets at night?”

“Are you implying I would walk the streets at night? I have half a mind to forget I am a lady and give you a few choice words right about now. Besides, why would I want to walk the streets at night anyway? The shops are not even open! …they are? Hm.”

“Back to the airship crews, Miss Crinoline: they do not break the peace of A Clockwork Spiral at all?”

“Naturally there is some more… noise involved, but they are not stupid, only rowdy. We are in the sky, their ship is docked and there is nowhere to run unless they fancy growing wings. Although I must say that the late afternoon walks can get terribly troublesome with all the… unwashed ruggedness everywhere. Most distracting. Disturbing! Most disturbing.”

“What is your opinion on the planned party on September 20th?”

“I had my reservations at first since it will surely be brimming with all kind of scoundrely sorts that come out when the sun sets, but then the Daguerreotype Daily declared it as the social event of the season and I always trust their word. It is apparently the Place To Be, especially if one wishes to be Seen.”

52 Colours: Amazon

Two years of colours comes to a close with Amazon which despite its name works well as a festive tone. I want to thank Luna Jubilee for running the colour challenge for so long, that’s over 100 posts from all of us just for this. Admittedly, I did ram the fifteen first colours in one post since I joined the challenge a tad late the first year, but still. So much squinting, swatch tone comparing, brainstorming, look and concept pondering… it gave rhythm to my blogging, these weekly colours. It was an important part in my becoming consistent blogger, posting at least a few times a week since I always felt there should be minimum one post between the colours. Thank you, Luna, thank you all the other colour bloggers, have a wonderfully colourful next year, even without any official challenge!

The dress is one of the limited edition holiday dresses from Bilo, available only for December, so go get yours while you still can! When Sanity Falls

There’s a wonderful new game-hunt by MadPea called Sanity Falls. It is a story of Alexander Blackwell and his desperate attempts to free his wife from the hands of kidnappers. This is not a shiny-happy-cuddly hunt, so be warned.

You can purchase the game-HUD (100L) from here to begin your hunt. Don’t forget to pick up the Alex-avatar nearby if you want to really immerse yourself into the game. By the way, this is an excellent deal for new male players: 100L for a whole, good avatar. I’d suggest picking him up even if you wouldn’t do the hunt. (You need to have the HUD to get him.)

You can see all the prizes here. Note that there’s two prizes per shop, one that you get immediately when you locate the ransom money in the shop and another that you get in the very end of the adventure. There were plenty of things that I liked, but for these pictures I wanted something slightly less sane and more chaotic. The Alex-paintings are screenshots by me, I inserted them in the frames that otherwise had wonderful Alice pictures. I wanted Insanity here watching him through them as he continues his quest…
