“The pleasure is all mine, I assure you. I have been designed to feel comfortable and pleased when interacting with humans in a socially acceptable and friendly manner.”

“Feel? I am somewhat surprised to hear you use the word, I hope I do not offend… I was not expecting a… woman that has been designed to speak of feelings.”

“Do not many of the humans also believe they were designed? How is that different?”

“…ah, yes. But um… see, they believe they were designed by… well, not by another human. Speaking of, do you think it is possible for me to speak with him?”

“Find Marie, ask her. She knows such things. Climb on the roof by nightfall, she prefers to do her calculations in the dark.”

“Miss Marie, a word, please?”

“Cuprosklodowskite.”

“…ah. Um. I meant… could I ask you a question?”

“Rhetorical and redundant.”

“…quite right, I already did. I would like to meet and talk with your Maker. How may I achieve this?”

“Put these on to adjust your human sight to see the Clocktower. To the south. Knock on the door. Goodbye.”

“May I just state that it is an honor to finally meet you… I am not even certain what to call you, I have heard so many names. The Prototypes call you Maker, the townsfolk whisper of the Architect, the Scientist and there are even other words floating around…”

“Names do not matter, Miss Journalist. Only my work does.”

“…very well. I can see you are doing just that, working. Is she… I mean… does that hurt?”

“Greta is not sentient yet. No, it does not hurt, she has not been created to feel pain. The others have preliminary nervous systems to aid in self-preservation, but Greta and her partner will not be needing those.”

“…and why is that?”

“Because they are created to aid the Gaze. Captain Lupine sent me a very special and specific request. I am responding in kind.”

“…I see. Actually, I see far from here… the whole of the Spiral. But until Marie gave me these goggles, I did not even know there was a clocktower here.”

“There is always a tower of observation, Miss Journalist. Always.”

A Clockwork Spiral has been visibly inhabited by the Prototypes from Fallen Gods Inc. this year. One can meet Anna, Marie, Oscar and Nikola almost any time one visits the area. They are available as complete avatars, but also sold separately as outfits and skins (Rust appliers in the Materica HUD in the main store). It felt only fitting to have a story of the steam diesel scientist behind them, so Alia Baroque graciously agreed to play the part that is his by right.

In addition to the Prototypes themselves, you can also find Greta’s seat and one of the lamps by 22769 ~ [bauwerk] from the Spiral. The steam arm on the Scientist is by ImmateriA and also available in the event.

Dementia Has No Name

The title is a combination of the name of the first lingerie set, Dementia by Dare Designs, and the collar and the jacket by Zibska called NoName. Dementia is a new release with several layer options, also considerably skimpier ones, but I felt like styling these in a more vintage fashion. After all, it’s soon time for Vintage Fair!

Why yes, yes they are skulls in the collar and jacket. I’d imagine either could be styled into a very fashionable bad-ass look, but after I saw the Maeve lingerie below and the Dementia above, I knew I wanted to take vintage pin-up pictures. There’s something irresistible in the aesthetic: a mix of class, enticement and attitude.

Zibska’s jacket, collar and Maeve-lingerie are available in Vanity Fair, which will run until 11th August. Better hurry over and check it all out before the other events begin: it’s going to be a busy month.

Up to No Good

The undead fey have appeared to accompany their bigger cousins in the Zombie Popcorn Carnival. These petites hail from the island of Selidor, more commonly known as the home of Fallen Gods Inc., but for the duration of the Carnival they are pestering people only there. When the carnival ends, they will grow bored and slink back home to the temple in Selidor.

There was a lot to do at the carnival, sand castles to conquer, big people to glare, souls to steal, earlobes to nom… what? Brains are too big for them! The hair is a new release by Wasabi Pills; this particular colour was available in the 50L Fridays, but the less candied tones are for sale normally. I had to mention it for three reasons: 1) they don’t rig their short styles, so it was easy to shrink to petite size 2) it’s adorable 3) 50L Fridays are back, hurray!

The spectacles by Contraption are also available in the Carnival, and they are fabulously unhinged. They are also modifiable and shrunk beautifully to petite size. Yes, one of the glasses is missing. Yes, they make her look like a pocket-size evil librarian genius. Perfect!

So when you go to the Carnival, make sure you don’t leave your noms on the table or your pet hamsters unguarded, you never know who might be glaring at you from the shadows!

52 Colours: Pistachio

Miss Pistachio was super fun to do! All thanks goes to Nicole Twigvald of Smileyorc fame, who sent her friends random orc skins with ‘Be an orc!’ message. So now I am! I can’t pull off her effortless elegance in a green skin, but I refused to go to stereotypical loincloth + bones category, either. Therefore Miss Pistachio is a post-apocalyptic skater orc!

The skater outfit is an old hunt gift by +DV8+. I’ve been meaning to bring up the fact that they are having a closing sale for a while now, and this was the perfect time for it. Truly post-apocalyptic, an end of an era, all that stuff.

The vehicle by Michigan’s Shack, hair by Discord Designs, eyes by Mayfly and lashes by Miamai are all from the Mesh Around hunt. Slurls, hints and preview pictures can be found here. The mesh seelie ears by *~*Illusions*~* are probably more meant for elves, but post-apocalyptic orcs can have as big-and-pretty ears as they want, says I.

Most other things are old subscribo gifts like the jewelry by Finesmith, old hunt gifts like the body tattoo by YaYo or old hunt props like the crowbar from ^Re.Birth^. I think the baseball bat with poses by Diesel Works is still out as a freebie, though. She had to have one, some sophistication in clubbing, see!

Where Have All the Good Frogs Gone?

That is what the Frog Princess here is wondering. Actually that’s the name of the dress and I just couldn’t help myself. I’m sure we can all relate to her worries and question, after all. As for the dress by Simply Fae, it will be up in the silent auction in the upcoming Fantasy Faire.

I love the subtle touches referencing the tale, the green leaves forming the partial collar and the belt. As for the conveniently matching rose heart necklace, that’s by T R I D E N T Jewelry and one of their RFL vendor items, available in the faire as soon as it opens on 21st April.

La Boheme has this perfect fairy tale princess hair in Crazy Hair Hunt, although I admit that I tinted the roses purple from their original red colour just to match the gown and the delicate amethyst drops of the necklace.

All of the environment in the pictures is by T R I D E N T and every single piece will be in their RFL vendors in the faire as well. In this case the setting is made of a medieval bridge, a Medusa statue and an adorable gypsy wagon. …wait a minute, maybe all the good frogs are gone because Medusa has been turning them to stone! This calls for a revenge plan.

A Week to Wait

Fantasy Faire will open its doors to imagination on 21st April, so there’s only one week to twitch in anticipation. While waiting I shall share with you a story of the blue fairy who found her determination to gain her wings right as Gmok the Mail Delivering Creature brought her the faire invitation…

“Is that… is that Cousin Sparklewing on the poster? How come she’s there and I’m not?”

“I bet it’s just because she has wings! That.. that… fluffhead!” Miffed, the blue fairy kicked the glittery magic lights around.

“Hurry, Mr. Bluebeak, there’s only a week to go and a long way to fly! I want to be the first to the faire to buy ALL THE WINGS. That’ll show her.”

Now, I wanted to point out to the blue fairy that you cannot -buy- a good self-esteem and that she should be happy for Cousin Sparklewing, but she flew away so fast and the local snail mail operates by actual snails, so… oh well. At least it’ll be shopping for a good cause, right?

52 Colours: Royal Purple

With a name like this it was obvious Miss Royal Purple had to be a queen. Evil sorceress queen, duh. Are there any other kind?

Of course I went to my Evie’s Closet folder for this. Luxuriously rich colours and all the style a fantasy queen could possibly want. Since I was lacking in crowns I went for a big hair instead. This one is an old Crazy Hair Hunt gift by Curious Kitties. Speaking of, a new round has just started!

I did find a cute crown by Violet Voltaire from my inventory! Too small for evil queens to wear, but just perfect to tempt mortals with. What would you give for it, pretty one?

Obviously I had to go all the way purple, so even the skin by Heartsick, lipstick by M.O.C.K. Cosmetics and the eyes and the mask tattoo by The Plastik are all purple as well. I tried to find a golden throne for her, but failed. In the end I took her to Athan because I knew I could trust in Alia’s elven builds to have the right vibe. And so they did~

Bilo for Beautiful

The word bilo in Punjabi means either cute or beautiful girl. This is more than fitting for {bilo}, which not only finally opened its doors, but is also having an opening sale!

This particular piece of beauty — Nadia dress in fern — is a group gift at the moment. The henna tattoos are -50% and are all based on her own RL henna designs. I grew especially fond of the idea of using leg henna as summer stocking-replacements.

Both dresses are partial mesh. What this means is that the top and pants are system layers and the additional skirt part is mesh. Just like we used to have with prim parts, but better. There’s demos available, give them a go. This is also pretty much the only way to have the stretchiness of mesh without editing your shape at all. For the moment, at least.

These partial mesh solutions finally give us own-shape fitting pencil skirts that work properly. So much love. The jewelry is by Amorous, which has the final day of their sale going on. Hint-hint, rush-rush. The hair by Exile is from My Attic, another last moment warning.

Twisted Sacrifice

Why yes, yes this is yet another Twisted Hunt post. It’s not my fault there’s so much awesome arcane stuff! There was about gazillion drow skins, too, so of course I had to make at least one of those. This particular drow seems to be a mix between an assassin and a priestess, perhaps an unholy woman warrior of sorts…

The dragon with the ruins and hoard is by Curvasive Designs and was absolutely irresistible as a background setting. The outfit with a hood and mantle (and many other options not visible here) is by Dare Designs and worked oh so well with the skin and ears by The Little Bat. The tattoos are a part of the skin.

I added an altar by Roawenwood and a collection of obvious arcane substances by The Fooding to the setting, to appeal to the sacrificing priestess side of the drow. I couldn’t resist the dagger by Sacred Fantasy, though, so I let her play with sharp objects as well.

Disclaimer: no prim babies — two-headed monsters or otherwise — were harmed during these shoots, they’re just posing! This picture is actually for the Great SL Photo Hunt, number 37: you holding a prim baby. No one said how to hold it! I don’t know anyone with one, this is as close to one as Sonya will ever get and this little monster was a freebie in the Marketplace, so… tadah!

Nemo

I had this song stuck in my head through the whole photoshoot. I doubt the character I put together is Nemo, not even in opposite-verse, so she must be the friend. Regardless of the name it’s obvious she is a captain as well.

The main features in this post are from Steam the Hunt, going on at the moment. Steam tends to showcase creative gadgets, vehicles and builds and this spring was no exception. One of the biggest and most breathtaking steam constructions was this Architeuthis Mechanica by Urban Forge Virtuatecture. I mean, who wouldn’t want to live in a giant mechano squid?

The outfit and the cap are by Unzipped, one of the rare awesome steampunk clothiers. (There’s a captain’s outfit for guys too, go fetch!) I added the Wanderlust boots by Lassitude & Ennui to the look since they really did scream steampunk to me. They’re at the moment available in March Mesh Madness.
