Little Helper

I know it’s not yet December, that’s the whole point. Did you really think we bother checking on people then? Everyone expects us around that time. The point is to keep an eye on people around the year, not just for one month.

So, I hope you have tried your best to get to the right list this year. I assure you that the difference between rum bottles and pink oversized sweaters is very clear. The Little Helper Division always follows the rules. We know that if we don’t, there’ll be brown quilting in our future.

For your sake we better have very clear documents and proof on your general level of naughtiness. If we don’t you better hurry, dress in black and indulge in some gothic debaucheries right this moment. We have house appliances in storage if you don’t.

We don’t even have to check our list twice, because we happen to be sufficiently efficient the first time. You just watch out, because Sandy Claws is coming to town and Gothmas is just around the corner!

Gothmas by Gaslight is indeed just around the corner, opening December 15th. Blogger applications are still open if you are so inclined. (Black -is- a festive colour.) It’s Raining Shoes

“I was bathing! What in the name of Verne is this… rain of shoes? You! Squirrel with goggles! What is going on and who can I complain to?”

“No, see, Miss, there was an unfortunate mistake of an accident kind, completely accidental and the ship that was transporting these shoes sort of kind of maybe possibly blew up. Nothing to worry about, I think the crew got away safely, I just got lost in the winds.”

“You can’t have shoes falling on people when they are relaxing! I am writing a few choice words to the Air Trade Companies right this minute and-“

“Nonononono, see, um, all the shoes? The officials think they are destroyed. Unless you tell them, of course. All destroyed. No one will care if you happen to take them home. Best designer shoes on the market. Stay silent and you can have all the shoes!”

“All the shoes? Seriously?”

“Aaaaaaaaall the shoes.”

Much Ado About Apples

The next person who mentions apples to me will end up as one! In a pie. The worst PR fiasco of millennium, I tell you. And I should know, seen a few. Millennia, I mean. Why no, I do not look that old, thank you. I am quite aware. Oh, just healthy lifestyle, no secrets. …I said no secrets, you unraise that eyebrow right this moment.

So the little brat ran away to live with seven men in the woods, right? I can relate, we all make these decisions in our youths: momentary whims, rebelling against the silver spoon in your mouth, defying the castle and its treasury, be your own woman and imagine cooking for yourself is somehow cool and edgy instead of ridiculously tedious.

What was I to do? I was supposed to look after her or something. The least I could do was to check up on her and let me tell you just two words: dwarf. kitchens. Rats and rats and dwarf bread that can be used as a murder weapon, occasional mushroom and more rats! I just wanted her to eat healthy, how could I possibly remember she was allergic?

So, enough about apples. Fancy a pear?

The Oasis

It’s a long road through the deserts of life to reach the oasis. You get lost in the way, you might sink into the sand, the hot winds dry your skin into a protective carapace. 
It takes perseverance to keep going, sometimes even blind faith to believe there is such a thing as an oasis. Maybe when you reach it, you don’t believe your eyes, call it a mirage, call it too good to be true and hesitate.

The last few steps can take more courage than the whole trek through the desert did, but once you feel the blessed shade on your skin and hear the sound of water, you know it was all worth it.

And once home, you are able to encourage others on their journey and welcome them to the oasis.

The Scarab skin and outfit are at the moment in a fortune teller at Fallen Gods Inc. and they’ll be there until November 3rd. The antennae by Cerridwen’s Cauldron can be won for example at We Love Roleplay.

The Scarab has emerged in the fortune teller to celebrate the sixth anniversary of Fallen Gods Inc., and as usual there’s celebrations involved. This time in addition to the traditional twelve-hour-one there’s also a host of parties during the week, the first one today (Wednesday 23rd) at 1 PM SLT. Delirium

“Movies inspire me.” That is this year’s theme for the annual Hair Fair Photo Contest. Obviously I had to go for sci-fi, not only because it’s one of my favourite themes in general, but because crazy big sci-fi hairs in SL have always made me throw lindens at the designer in a blink of an eye.

The contest ends June 28th, so there’s still time to figure out your favourite movie hairstyles and to have fun with pictures before that. Hair Fair itself begins July 13th, so there’s still a long time to wait. More details on the contest can be found here.

As for the blue sci-fi hairstyle itself, it’s Delirium by Alice Project. Alice has a big summer sale going on until June 27th and has just released Create Your Own packs, which allow you to mix-match hair colours from all her HUDs ever, but only five different copies of the hair. This is great if you normally use just few colour-combinations, but if you want to be able to change your hair colour often, the Infinity packs are still the way to go. Alice’s HUD system has saved my blogger-behind on countless days of ‘but I need this green hair in slightly darker hue and with golden highlights’, so I wanted to give kudos and praise where it’s due when speaking of upcoming Hair Fair.

Zodiac: Aries

Aries is the first sign of the Zodiac: the one to start things, the one to charge fearlessly ahead, the one with all the energy and enthusiasm. No doubts, no standing still, no wasting time in meaningless details.

Often associated with sports and contests, Aries definitely has a competitive nature. The Collector

It’s grand being a collector of the arcane. Gathering relics and artifacts from various worlds and planes of existence, painstakingly hunting them down one by one until the collection is finally complete.

One should be careful though for the arcane objects are hardly governed by the same rules as the normal ones and tend to have a mind of their own. A rewarding tea time might turn into puzzlement as there is suddenly a storm in the teacup. Especially since it comes with a tiny house.

At the point when magical critters hijack your miniature hot air balloon and begin floating into the sunset — alright, toward the closest window — it’s time to consider changing your profession.

The Arcade has opened its doors once more, catering to all the collectors and gacha-holists of the grid. HANDverk has two separate gachas at the event, both themed around Oz. The items can be placed in the display case that is one of the prizes, but most of them also come with wearable versions: the silver slippers, golden cap, green spectacles, Woodman’s hat, Dorothy’s basket, wicked witch’s whistle and Woodman’s new heart. The throne comes in both display and furniture size.

The other items won from The Arcade include the skin by Pink Fuel, hair by Curio Obscura, the tako tea cup by Schadenfreude and the little sheep critter by D-LAB. The makeup by Adore&Abhor is from the Lavender Hill Hunt.

Ornamental

Ornament dress by SAKIDE is slinky, short and with a cut for cleavage. What else could you possibly ask from a holiday dress? It’s available in the Frost Winter Fashion Fair until January 2nd. The cleavage cut is perfect for eyecatching pendants, such as this Luminos necklace by Snow Bound.The hairstyle is one of Alice Project’s advent calendar gifts — they are scriptless especially festively striped versions of her normal styles. Both poses are from HopScotch’s advent calendar, as well as the snowball that goes with the pose. The lipstick is from the huge packet of various holiday reds Mockie sent to her group.

The hopeful chest by Snow Bound and the sad little christmas tree by *Perception* are available in Gothmas by Gaslight. As for the D-LAB penguin… he just wandered over to have a cup of coffee. On such a snowy day, who could blame him?

Gold, Sand and Marble

They all go together, the luxurious gold, the eternal sand and the black marble warmed by the sun. They are also new releases by Fallen Gods Inc. for Around the World. Speaking of, all the hairs used in the post are by Alice Project, available in the same event.

Aureum is a creature of gold, the veins of the precious ore near liquid in the desert heat, melting the solid cover. Sand shifts and changes with wind… rising up and taking form only to be blown into the breeze a few moments later. The tracks of wind’s fingers always on her skin.

As for Black Marble, frozen in place until the sun warms her limbs enough to walk into the desert, she might have the longest journey yet. The magnificent desert is a creation by Garden of Dreams, perfect for the three to wander in.
