The Sun in Selidor

The sun in Selidor is always warm. The eternal summer embraces all visitors, inviting them to rest on the soft grass and to watch the wonder that is summer sky.

The Fallen Gods Inc. 8th Anniversary Festival week has officially started off! The roof top of the temple hosts an Eternal Market featuring wondrous things for sale (or as gifts), the Fortune Teller inside the temple is still offering free Infinity Sidera avatars for both men and women that find their match, and the week is full of events! The Seasons of Persephone: Summer

Her mysteries bloom in the sound of birdsong, her footsteps lure forth flowers, her whispered words soothe minds and spirits alike, wrap the world in the warmth of summer.

Nature responds to her mindset, her feelings, or perhaps the nature influences her thus, but regardless they are one. It is summer and Persephone wanders amongst the trees and flowers, breathing in the scented air after the long winter months in the Underworld.

The trees sway with her steps, the flowers reach higher to touch her as her steps take her in the dance of delight through her summer realm. Her touch revives and revitalizes the smallest of details, conjures the celebration of life in an orchestra of colours, scents and sensations.

It is summer, and Persephone celebrates with nature: one months-long delight of warm souls, green growth and the embrace of life. It is summer, and she invites you to join her. Join her while the summer lasts!

Mielikki, Mistress of the Woods

Mistress of the woods, Mielikki, Forest-mother, formed in beauty,

All of the above are separate quotes from the Finnish National Epic, Kalevala. I found its translation here, so couldn’t resist just locating the Mielikki quotes for this. To all the Forgotten Realms fans feeling confused right now: yes, Mielikki is an actual pagan Finnish goddess of the forest, her name (and several others) were just happily yoinked and applied into Forgotten Realms.

The gown that inspired me to envision her is another collaboration by Faida and Fallen Gods Inc. and it is available in The Conquest event right now. The hair by Wasabi Pills can be found in the same event. The fennec foxes by +Half-Deer+ are a gacha in Kustom9. Mielikki’s foxes should really be red and northern, but the fennecs didn’t take a no for an answer.

Major Arcana: The Empress

She is the Mother, the Lover, the Goddess. She is wrapped in a wealth of luxuries, in abundance and opulence. She brings with her care and nourishment, the birth of art and creativity, of connections and happiness. She is the Empress and she governs Life.

In her footsteps the world blooms, ideas take root and hearts grow stronger. At her touch the nature celebrates in the richness of summer both in spirit and matter.

For all things stagnant she brings new hope, new sparkles and sensuality, new reasons to laugh, new reasons to reach out to others. Even better reasons to reach out to ourselves and awaken.

Within her lies the mystery of the feminine, from the pleasures of passion to the joy of play. From the nurturing protection to generous sharing of the world.

She is the Empress. May we all be so fortunate as to have her influence our lives, may we all dare to step forward to meet her and embrace her teachings. 

The whole look was inspired by the makeup by Fallen Gods Inc., which in turn was created for the Create Your Own Tarot event. It’s a relatively new event, going through the Major Arcana card by card. This round is all about The Empress.

The surroundings are completely by The Looking Glass, hailing back to this spring’s Fantasy Faire and Ichi-go Ichi-e sim, plenty of which is now available in the main store. The little sakura fairies are a group gift, even! Both the headdress by deviousMind and the robe by =Zenith= are gacha prizes from past events. I know deviousMind has the gacha in their main store and I’d trust =Zenith= adds hers eventually, too.

Time for Dances and Delights

The day felt too long. The sun was bright in my eyes, the hours toward evening seemed to drag on for an eternity.

As the evening breeze brought solace to the heat, the first of the fairies emerged. Their dance, the peacefully floating sparkles eased the anxiety of waiting.

The lanterns were slowly lit, the scent of evening roses filled the air, the night began its approach in a slow, gentle embrace of shadows.

It is time. Time for masks and mysteries, dances and delights. Time to forget the strength of sun and embrace the solace of night. It is time for the Masquerade Ball.

The first ever May Day Masked Ball takes place this evening in Fantasy Faire. The Ball is 5-7pm SLT in Poseidon’s Abyss. It is hosted by DJ Gabrielle Riel of Radio Riel and during the Ball there will also be an announcement of the King, Queen and Chancellor of Fantasy Faire.

The Dance of the Frost Daughters

They dance in the clear air, the daughters of frost. They glide with soft-flurried wings, as sharp as the biting cold. They glitter and sparkle like their smaller cousins, the sprites known as snowflakes.

Their already freezing hair holds touches of the midwinter sun, the flowers they wear formed of snow and ice to adorn their twirling forms.

Every graceful step freezes ground beneath them, every wing stroke breathes icy wind into the world, every twirl in the air sends out a breeze.

They dance, the beauty of winter caught in a softly-flowing motion of a silhouette. They dance, and in their steps the frost flowers bloom. They dance, and the world holds its breath, frozen in silent bliss.

The Bunny Painter

“When will the Bunny Painter arrive, Uncle?”

“Nobunny knows, young Splatter. She comes on a whim and a wish, when the spring sounds grow to a melody, when the scents of newgrowth tickle your nose, when the sun warms your ears. You close your eyes for a moment and there she is!”

“She paints everybunny colourful to celebrate the soon-summer, all the colours of the flowers and grass and sky and rainbows and birds and plants and stars and-“

“Stars aren’t colourful, Uncle. They’re just sparkly.”

“That’s only because you’re so young you haven’t been painted yet. Just you wait, young Splatter. Just you wait. When the Bunny Painter colours your life, even the stars will sparkle in brilliant glowing tones, alive and laughing!”

“I’ll stay up all night to see the colourful stars! All night! ‘n then I’ll wink at them and we’ll laugh together, the stars and I and the Bunny Painter.”

Magic of Oz Holi 2015 Hunt has started and lasts until April 16th. Spring Sparkles

Spring arrives with a flourish, with a sweep of her blossoming hems, with a dance in her step and a promise in her tone.

She emerges overnight to seemingly barren spots, celebrating with every little peeking bud and shy leaf. She sees the truth behind the tiny marks of growth: the sparks flying, the magic happening, the nature’s energies courting each other.

Each flower grows toward the light, toward the sparkles dancing in the complicated web that is nature. It all breathes together, connected, like neurons flashing in response to the change.

The trees speak in leaves, in blossoms, whispering their wisdom to the younger plantlife, finding their voice again after the silence of the winter. They speak of growth, of shared life, of sensations so full there’s no separation between where a small flower begins and a grand tree ends.

The nature celebrates: it sparkles in lights and flashes, in blooms and grass, in the sweet scent of life. Human eyes might not grasp all the details, all the colours and sparkling scents, but the nature does. It plays the song of joy with the energies, influencing the mood of even the truth-blind people.

Spring has arrived, with a smile and an invitation to join the dance of nature. 

The spring nymph by Fallen Gods Inc. is available in We Love RP event and the giant puffball mushrooms by Cerridwen’s Cauldron are a new main store release. The mushrooms shoot out spores on touch, react to each other and also have a HUD to trigger the reaction with. The result is an absolutely amazing fireworks show by nature.

The Piccoli and the Princess

They find their ways into the forest sometimes, the giants. They’re usually lost and confused and need guidance to get out.

They don’t understand the normal language at all, and have pitifully small ears for signals anyway. Instead they make sounds, a lot of sounds.

Sometimes the animals feel bad for them and join them, sometimes they even use the forest energies to make sounds back at the giants. This always first shocks, then delights them.

We know better than that. Every time you acknowledge their presence and feel sorry for them and use a bit of magic to understand which kingdom is now in peril and what they need to save it, off you go on some quest and end up living in a castle full of giants.

No, thank you. We piccoli are better off in the forest. Who would train the birds and make the flowers grow if we left with every pretty giant that seemed to be in trouble and in need of help?

Nono, not even if you ask nicely. Not even with those giant puppy eyes. Talk to the otter, he’d love to go into a castle. Especially the kitchen. We’re busy. We have a spring to prepare!

Piccoli by D-Lab and Lizail can be won from The Arcade. They’re astonishing critters, padding and hopping independently from one structure to another and interacting with them. Shopping for noms, flying birdies, climbing up to tree houses, starting the sprinkler on their own. It’s absolutely fascinating to watch. Yes, I had to get them all. This was my March-Arcade Madness.

“Explore the dark reaches of the universe! Come see the space bunnies of Fluffzoid 8!” That’s what the ad said. Absolutely irresistible. There was an adventure to be had! Space bunnies to see! No one said a thing about waiting in line. At least there were comfy gear chairs.

“Excuse me, sir, I would like to book an adventure trip to Fluffzoid 8. Yes, I’ll pay extra for guaranteed space bunny observation. Yes, I’ll pay extra for the camouflage cloak to get really close to them. Yes, I’ll pay extra for… what life insurance? They’re fluffy bunnies! Lepus galaxicus pythonae! Why would I… oh alright, if it’s mandatory.”

“Holotickets securely marked on the genetic display, it’s time for an adventure! The trip seems to take place in adorably archaic saucers of beam transport, guess it involves close experiences of the star systems on the way.”

“Now to prepare these elderberries as bait and all will be absolutely perfect!”

Gothulon Travel at Futurewave might or might not be able to send you to interesting locations, it all depends on the amount of imagination in your genetic compilation. It is fun to visit, regardless!
