The Glass Prison

What brought the curious fauna to the library window of the Nautilus? There was always some sealife in sight, possibly just passing by, possibly trying to figure out what the great metal beast really was.

glassbetween1bs

Did they find the bizarre instruments and objects rare treasures, like the items humans hunt from the bottom of the sea, things that to the sealife are perfectly common and unimportant?

glassbetween3bs

Or were they there to gaze at their captured kin, forever taken from them in their tiny display cells, locked away from the world, all for science?

glassbetween2bs

Or perhaps they were there to say hello, to greet the prisoners and to try and communicate with the strange metal beast, to see if it’d release what it took. Sadly, no matter how well they fluttered and shifted, Nautilus never replied.

A Tattered Page is still diving deep in the oceans with Captain Nemo, this round is focused on 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne. You can find all the items in the post from A Tattered Page Library.

The Things That Belong to the Sea

It is unknown whether dugongs possess the ability to be curious. In fact, one might think that the slowly grazing marine mammals are unfazed by anything short of all the food vanishing or seas drying up. However, sometimes there are things in the sea that might intrigue even a steadily swimming creature such as dugong.

dugong1bs

Perhaps it can remember these strange bits and pieces belonging to the two-legged creatures traversing the seas in metal shells. Perhaps it can remember that they do not journey peacefully, but harass its kin often enough to be dangerous.

dugong2bs

Does it understand that the strange metal pieces littering the bottom of the ocean are a sign of their defeat? Does it realize that the metal shell has broken and the two-legged creatures either swallowed by the sea or fled from its rage back to the land?

dugong3bs

Perhaps the most important question of all is: does it feel relief at the sight? Maybe even satisfaction? Or is it simply nosing for hidden food between the strange objects? Strange objects that now belong to the sea.

A new round of A Tattered Page has just started! This time the event focuses around 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne. The various remnants of Nautilus by [noctis], 22769 ~ [bauwerk] and BluPrintz and the hilarious dugong avatar by The Muses are all available in the ATP Library.

Gothilocks

But only two bears. Surely this was some sort of bizarro-day in story land, things definitely out of place and overlapping. Holidays mixing with fairytales, critters running from one story to another, no one sticking to the original plans anymore, absolute chaos! (And hijinks and shenanigans.)

gothilocks1csThere was no porridge nor beds, but a holiday feast and comfy pillows, even a small gingerbread house for noms. Gothilocks wasn’t quite certain why there was a snowshoe rabbit riding a small yak indoors, but surely there’d be an explanation for everything eventually.

gothilocks2csThe cocoa train kept puffing along steadily while the little arctic fox tried in vain to awaken the doggie that had unfortunately zoomed right through the Sleeping Beauty’s story before landing here. It was all so very peaceful and cosy that it was tempting to close one’s eyes, for just a moment.

gothilocks3csBut wait, maybe it wasn’t just the doggie… where did all this food come from if not a castle’s kitchen? Definitely not from this cottage, there’s not even a kitchen here! This amount of sleepiness all around cannot possibly be just from relaxed atmosphere… there’s trouble afoot!

Most of the look is from Gothmas by Gaslight. The outfit by Violent Seduction, the furniture by [noctis] and the nails by Pin Me Down are located in Cursed. The skin by Jalwa and shoes and jewelry by Eclectica can be found in Sium. The cocoa train by Lark and the sleepy doggie with pillows and the yak by +Half-Deer+ are from the current round of The Garden. The arctic animals are from a gacha in Beetlebones. The eyes by Adoness are a part of F R O S T and the gingerbread house by Poche is from the Christmas Mini Mall at Naminoke.

Zombie Interlude

Rotten Little Bunny took over my Zombie Popcorn Post!

The above is another picture in the line of ‘Sonya takes pictures through a window and giggles’. No post-processing whatsoever. I sense a theme forming. I promise the other pictures aren’t like this, though!

Skin by Natural Beauty, hair by Iren, blindfold by Razorblade Jacket, hair skull by u.f.o., dress by Zenith Fashion, tights by Le Poppycock, pose by Olive Juice, furniture by Noctis, house by Zigana and — tadah — the bunny by Ragdoll’s cut~

Twisted Changeling

I promise I’ll stop with these soon, but I just couldn’t resist this one… Noctis has a spooky abandoned victorian pram as the prize and I immediately knew what I’d do with it. Twisted Changeling Roo!

…what? They’ve been petted and snuggled by all these twisted creatures I’ve blogged, had a vote and demanded to be let into the game as well.

I took the pictures in a small castle by Gothic Desires and put on a dress by Blue Blood to give the image a mock-Victorian-vibe. The twisted teddy bear is by LOoLo’s. Stockings are from Sassy’s outfit.

The hat with all the butterflies is by Heartsick and the posture collar is by Rasetsukoku. Hair by Sky Everett (not a part of the hunt) and skin (what little you can see of it) by Belle Morte.

So now that even my roos have entered the Twisted mood, mayhaps I should stop with all of this and get back to other themes already. *coughs* But they’d make perfect changelings! Approach the pram and there’s a tentative purr-beep-nau?

Corny IV

The fourth Zombie Popcorn Hunt has started! There’s 76 wonderful shops involved and if you join the group you can grab the list of landmarks and hints from the past notices. Begin here. My favorites are from the more strange, dark and quirky offerings of the hunt, but there was plenty of wonderful normal things for everyday use as well!

Obviously you have to have a zombie in a Zombie Popcorn Hunt. This one even -has- the said popcorn although I fear for her coordination. Might be tricksy to get the popcorn out from the small bag, especially with the ickle zombie already noming…

I found the Madworld Park during the hunt and immediately landmarked it to come back for pictures. The zombie girl is wearing an outfit by Severed Garden: armwarmers, armlets, bra, skirt, boots, mouthie and the body scar. I was extremely impressed by it, not only because of the quality but because the resizer script had also stretch options so you can resize it to certain directions only. ❤ It was also delightful to notice that they offered both alpha layer and invisiprims for shoes and the tattoo in underwear and tattoo layers. The skin is by Glam Affair, hair by MINA Hair, face blood by V.E.L Cosmetics, zombie stomach wound by Repulse (a part of the first prize of the hunt) and the pose is one of the zombie poses by Captivity Co.

Where you have zombies you also have zombie hunters, it’s the great circle of um… unlife. This particular zombie hunter got an accidental ganguro feel, but I kinda like it.

The hair is not a part of the ZP hunt, it’s by SyDS from the Oh My Stars – April Showers Hunt. The outfit is my second favorite from the hunt, it’s a bloody kimono by Sassy Kitty Designs. Not that you could possibly call that a kimono, except in a very particular anime perhaps. It doesn’t even pretend to have a skirt part by adding a tiny prim. I sort of approve, I hate the teeny tiny prims that will not look good no matter how you set them to fake skirtness. Might as well skip them completely! The outfit comes with a clean version as well and includes shoes, ripped leggings and the chopstick hair pins. The huge three-bladed scythe is by J.I.N.X. and it’s absolutely necessary for a good zombie hunt. The skin is by Filthy and the body tattoo by Arnadi. The spider & web mouthie (what little you can see of it) is by EY:NO and the pose is by Diesel Works.

There’s always some prizes that go into the crazy entertainment of popcorn, stripes and carnival. For this shot I left the park, set out an old hunt prize house by Zacca to work as the background and made a scene with some of the furniture gifts.

The beautiful posing chair is by Tableau Vivant, the black-and-white curtains are by MudHoney and the rest of the bloody couch set is by Noctis. The carnie doll herself has a skin by Nuuna’s Skins, tattoo by Para Designs, top by ANCAYI and socks, gloves and panties by MUKA. The sneakers are by BC322, voodoo doll backpack by Beauty Killer and the tiny tophat by LaGyo. She’s noming a brain munchie by Virtual Insanity and has dropped a movie freak doll by Pinkmare’s House on the floor, although I have a feeling that the doll might start shambling off on her own any moment now. The hair is an old group gift by Curious Kitties and not a part of the hunt. The eyes of all the three girls are by Repulse.

The last day of the hunt is June 15th so you have still a couple of weeks to hunt for popcorn. Get out there and have fun!

So Steamy~

As usual, after I train my caming skills to extreme with Twisted, I assault Steam Hunt. They’re always during the same months, after all. Steam Hunts are mostly about furniture, gadgets, strange machinations and textures with some top hats tossed into the mix, but this round there were some excellent clothing choices as well! I used Sky Everett’s hairs in all the pictures as well as lovely golden eyes from Poetic Colors. Skins changed, but none of these were a part of the hunt.

Here’s a random noble lady, concerned over something, perchance a theft of something valuable. The matter disturbed her so greatly that she forgot her after-masquarade bath for the moment.

That half-mask with the elegant face piercing made me squee. It’s by Orquidea and absolutely breathtaking. The outfit is by Rag Dollz and matching gold-painted skin by Imabee. She’s sitting on a steampunk throne by Julia Collection while the bathtub by Damned Good Design is momentarily forgotten in the background. The holdable mask (a part of the outfit) lies on the edge of the bath. All the pictures except the last were taken in a steampunk loft by D&M Dream Furniture.

Perhaps this has something to do with her worries: an airship pirate obviously feeling way too smug for being innocent. Of anything. She’s been up to no good, that’s clear.

The whole outfit is by Dare Designs and perfect for daring pirate girls. It comes with a skirt option, but those just get in the way! The crates she’s sitting on are a part of a fun celebratory prop combination from Lemons & Cream, it came complete with champagne and a booty chest! In the background you can see a work table by E&D Engineering and outlander’s sideboard with accessories by Noctis. Skin is by Nightshade.

The pirate girl has reason to celebrate because she’s hidden her loot so cleverly that even the best detective in town has been driven to drink. Or at least to consider one, while fiddling with her trusted gun on the table.

This outfit is beyond awesome. I love Wretched Dollies as is, but when they turn into western steampunk complete with guns, it’s time to break out that champagne! The goggles are by Grim Bros, the hat is by The Mad Hattery and the skin one of the latest group gifts by Mynerva. The table with everything on it is a part of POST’s metropol set and there’s a fainting couch by The Naughty Victorian on the background. The sketches on the wall are a part of the loft.

Now, where did the pirate girl hide the treasure? In the magical gear forest guarded by steampunk fairies of course! …of course there are such things, stop looking at me like that. If there weren’t, there wouldn’t have been several pairs of wings as prizes, nor magical plants, flowers and awesome things as well!

See? A steampunk fairy! Wings by Wildz Creations and dress by Ezura. The skin was a 50L Friday purchase from The Plastik a while ago and I felt that the curliques on it worked with the wings~ Trees and shiny things on the background are by The Epic Toy Factory and I warmly recommend visiting them to see all the nifty things. It was impossible to capture the entertainment of teaching daisies to dance or hopping up and down on shrooms or wandering in the magical airship where the prize was hidden, you have to go and see for yourself! I set my own little magical gear garden in the conservatory by Primwynly.

I feel like I cut the story into a cliffhanger. Who knows, maybe I’ll make a colour-post about what it was that the pirate girl stole… one of these days. We’ll see~
