Tasty, tasty colours. In a world where the colours are nourishment food is consumed through sight: the brighter the colours, the sweeter the experience. The Big Bad Bun definitely thinks so! Only the brightest, happiest meals for him!

This particular restaurant has delivery butterflies as waiters to maximize the tastes. The rainbow-dressed woman is not a part of the staff, she’s a minion. The very best colour-hunter the Big Bad Bun employs.

No pale pastels would survive her jewel tones and if she encounters anything especially dull, she might just have to dig up the neon gun.

Rainbows and eyecandy can be serious business.

Zodiac: Cancer

Cancer woman is one of the water signs: emotional, imaginative and creative. She is also the most shy of the three, named fittingly because of her tendency to shield herself under a hard shell, keeping the soft, romantic side well hidden and protected.

Cancerians are home-builders, creating their own spaces, sanctuaries, worlds inside the four walls, not unlike they do with their personalities. They are easily sentimental and keep mementos from their childhood, of all the meaningful events, filling their homes with items so linked with their emotions that they are barely just items anymore.

Although they often like to dress in layers in a near extra-shell manner, when comfortable and dressed up, the Cancerian woman portrays classic feminine style with natural ease of simply knowing what looks good together. Getting her out of the house for anyone to see this is a completely different matter, though!

Cancerians are ruled by the moon and their emotions flow and ebb like the tides. Sometimes they might be too much to handle even for themselves and learning to control and balance the highs and lows is one of their biggest challenges. Once they do, they can fully enjoy their life of creativity in the safety of the home that is an innate part of their personality and being.

Zodiac: Capricorn

Capricorn’s symbol is the goat: surefooted climber heading to the top of the mountain. Capricorn people are similar in their ambitions, heading steadily toward the top. They tend to be work-orientated and this often shows in how they carefully consider and evaluate the career and if it is truly worth all their energy and devotion. They might change their jobs or end up in eccentric professions because they know exactly what they want and they systematically go after it.

Capricorns are stereotypically stiff people, often accused of not having sense of humour at all. They dislike being ridiculed to the point of bearing grudge for such transgressions, but this does not mean they would not have their own type of humour: usually quirky and eccentric.

The penchant for traditions also shows itself in appreciating quality and being classy. They’re one of the signs who expect high quality of everything: work, food, material possessions, time spent together. They also seem to have trouble getting into relationships, but once they do, they are extremely devoted, revealing surprising warmth from under the cool exterior.

Capricorns rarely take time for play and are masters of multi-tasking. They are serious, responsible sign that will achieve whatever it is they set out to do. Since they are so business-like on the surface, they usually have only few friendships, but those that they have are deep and never forgotten.

Zodiac: Libra

The new round for Zodiac is in full swing, focusing on Libra this month. Libras are traditionally the diplomats of the zodiac, the balance-keepers, the fair ones. They are often called indecisive, but that comes with the ability and desire to see all the points of view thoroughly before any decisions. The problem is of course in choosing when all the options seem fair and reasonable.

Libras radiate an air of sophistication while still managing to stay approachable. Classy, never uptight. They are often social butterflies, able to find something to talk about with everyone, reading the subtle cues of conversation like it was their native tongue that no one else comprehends. This often makes them excellent flirts, sometimes without even realizing it themselves.

They are also associated with the pursuit of beauty and harmony. Not just balance in their relationships, but in their actual surroundings. Traditionally Libras are known to have an impeccable taste in interior design, making their homes a pleasure to both eye and spirit. It is probably not a coincidence that the one Libra in my close friends is actually an artist.

As one of the air signs, they are also extremely intelligent. This is not necessarily factual science style, but instead smartness about people. If you ever need a mastermind to handle volatile situations, call a Libra!

I dressed my Libra girl in a twenties styled Society-dress by Volstead, because it looked sophisticated while still relaxed and practically comfortable. The Abbey-hair by Elikatira continued the theme of classy, but not uptight perfectly. I wanted to add some artistic quirk, a slight edge to make sure the Libra wasn’t too natural and subdued. The makeup in Ploom’s Lea-skin made sure she can stand in the spotlight if she chooses to. Some extra jewelry by Zaara and The Muses and I could set her painting at her easel.

Tourist

After a warm May it’s suddenly cold in June. Beach — even pixel one — was out of the question, so Sonya went to Memento Mori in ChouChou to play a tourist and oggle one of the most impressive builds I’ve seen to date. Try different windlights and shadows while visiting and be prepared for your jaw hitting the floor.

I’m sure you’ve all seen this dress by bilo flood the feeds lately, but it does so for a good reason. It’s available in Chic2 and lives up to that theme. The hat and shoes are both by G Field.

The mesh aviators are by WaterWorks and they are absolutely needed to guard your pixel eyes against all this glow. Speaking of, I just switched the windlight, all the glow is virtually real.

I yoinked the jewelry from Zaara’s annual sale (ends June 9th) to complete the tourist look of seashells, big sun hat and sunglasses. Sonya refused to wear sandals, though. Priorities and all that~

Suddenly, Colours!

What strange things are these non-black things? I’ve been gothing so much the last weeks that the colours took me by surprise.

The dress is a new release by <Geometry>, fittingly called Flirt. The transparent skirt is something I haven’t seen before in mesh clothing and I can’t wait to see it applied more often! The stunningly coloured hair is by Tameless, one of their items in the Keep Calm and Keep Shopping event. I wanted something matching the bright tone and dug out my favourite boots by lassitude & ennui to better twirl on the table with.

The first two poses are from LAP’s closing sale. Yes, closing sale. Go buy all the poses while you still can! The setting is a mix-match of furniture available in Keep Calm and Keep Shopping. The couch and the coffee table are by Pixel Creations, the studio and the dummy by [dirty.little.secret] and the chair below by Clutter.

Obligatory Elves Are Obligatory~

They’re everywhere! Santa hats, reindeer horns, candy canes, red lingerie, shiny lights… the grid turns into red and green for December. There’s a lot of hunts, events and just straightforward wonderful gifts by designers to make sure your avatar is appropriately dressed. I swear, you could make full 24 looks out of everything that is out at the moment, but here’s just three random yule girls~

And then Santa Roo will appear in the night and bring lots of noms to all the good little roolings…  Of course I had to take pictures with roos, too! I got height-appropriate lil table tree for them from LISP Bazaar, as well as the rug, gingerbread cookies and the couch. There’s a big xmas market going on for all your decorating needs. The house is by Kukuvaya from Project Themeory. I couldn’t resist its multitude of wonderfully decorated and shadowplay-workable windows. ❤

…who apparently refuse to go to bed and insist waiting up for the mythical Santa Roo, of course. The adorable hood with the lil horns and birdy and whatnot is from DP Yumyum. It’s so not Sonya, but it was so adorable that I just had to have it. For the roos! Or something. It comes with a blonde hair or without a hair, so of course I added one of my black bobs (this one by LOQ Hair) to it and just modded it to fit. So much love for modable things, resizers really do not cut it for things like this. The pants are by League from the Four Corners Event. Shoes by Lassitude & Ennui, ring by .( bewildebeest )., face tattoo by White Widow (With Love, Again Hunt).

Checking who has been naughty or… ohwait. This is SL. Do we -have- anyone who is anything but that? Definitely not in this Gothmasbread House by Urban Forge! It’s a prize in Gothmas by Gaslight Hunt and very fitting for anyone with a sweet tooth and a dark sense of humour. The outdoorsy elf has a hat & hair combo by Zeus (group gift), a mesh sweater by Loulou&Co (Christmas Hunt prize), skirt from the pile of presents in Sn@tch, tights by Aoharu and boots by MiaSnow.

The make-up is by M.O.C.K. Cosmetics, their prize in Gothmas by Gaslight Hunt. The coffee mug that the elfy is sharing with a squirrel is by Sweet Leonard & Needful Things, as is the sheep she is hiding behind her back in the first outdoorsy picture. The rings and the horns are also hunt prizes by them from  Where is… Hunt and Save the Animals Hunt. First outdoorsy pose by Striking Poses, the second by TeaSoup.

Anyone who makes a bad pun about tarts and Santa will get it in their face. The tart, I mean. The one on the bed. With strawberries.  This look is dedicated to Ely in defeat. She challenged me to find a sexy santa outfit of awesome and in the end I just put together things that weren’t really meant to be santa-ish at all. The body suit by {bilo} is awesome, though. It’s their Gothmas by Gaslight Hunt prize and I used it with the roos above as well, since it works perfectly as a modest top when need be! The foxy is by Ohmai from Collabor88. It’s gorgeous, it’s wonderfully textured, it looks like fur. Why, oh why are 90% of the fur-trimmed santa outfits in the grid still fullbright glowing time capsuled from 2006 style creations? Someone -please- make a current santa girl of awesome!

Fine, so it is a mistletoe on the bed, sue me. Now to wait for the Santa to arrive…  The bed is a gift from { Mole End } and the stocking and tart are from LISP Bazaar. You can catch a glimpse of stockings by Sn@tch and socks by Paradisis if you squint thataway. The hair is by Love Soul and the horniness is provided by Schadenfreude, one of their old gifts I had hoarded away. I kept Sonya’s default League-skin on in all the pictures, as well as the Redgrave lashes. I changed eye colour sometimes, but all the eyes are from Poetic Colors. (Psst, they have a sale going on at the moment, go shop!) The eye make-up is by Sorry.Asia and the luscious lipstick on the tart and the roo girl is by M.O.C.K. Cosmetics. Running Out of Autumn Titles…

Alas. Titles or not, I have a couple more cute autumn looks to show off, though!

This one is all about the cropped sweaters by PixelDolls! They come in several colours, have mesh sleeves and collar and work well for pretending that it warms you enough to afford a bare midriff! The fireplace in the background is by LISP Bazaar from the Seasons Hunt. Skin by League, eyes by Poetic Colors and lashes by Redgrave, as usual. The pillow and the pose with it are by {what next}, hair with the hat is by Posh and all the jewelry is by .( bewildebeest ).  because Coyo’s shinies go with anything!

I’m not sure if this look is too eighties to work or not, but I’ve grown oddly fond of it. The cutesy furniture on the background is by La Flat from the Unknown Hunt. The skybox by Umwelt, the skirt and shirt by u.f.o. and the faux pygmy vest by Ohmai are all from the Seasons Hunt. Chimera Sisters

This all began when I realized I had three pairs of faun legs I wanted to blog. So for a while the title was Three Little Fauns. Then I started dressing up the said fauns and realized I had no natural faun-appropriate modesty layers… but I did have scales. At this point the sisters turned into dragon-faun-chimeras. …shush, it’s SL, they can exist!

Here we have a pretty normal faun girl, despite the scales on her skin. They’re from a goldfish outfit by Fallen Gods Inc. The legs are in a lucky board in Violent Seduction and they’re mesh, so the usual mesh-disclaimers of needing a viewer that can see them applies. Sassy pose by Striking Poses.

The butterfly ring and necklace are group gifts by Sweet Leonard & Needful Things. The adorable curly horns are by Illusions and the hair is by Exile. Tattoo layer lashes by Miamai and the green eyeshadow (& pumpkins) from Elymode’s prize for Witch Hunt. Skin is by The Plastik, from Plundering Villages Hunt. Eyes by Poetic Colors and the blushing pose by Ploom.

This little chimera lives in a magical mushroom forest by Angelic Designs (from Twisted Hunt) and likes to practise her balance by walking on a barrel… tricksy if you have hooves, that’s all I say. The barrel is one of the Twisted extras by Epic Toys.

To balance the sweetness there of course needed to be the darker side and an evil chimera girl, like so~

I love these fiddler props by PRIME Furniture. They’re from Twisted Hunt, just like the mushroom scene by Lemons & Cream. I pretty much sign the idea that violins can be so tempting that wicked creatures might well use them in their deeds. This particular chimera’s faun legs, top and horns are by Deviant Designs, from Twisted Hunt.

But how to lure a dark chimera girl, then? Easy. Tea and noms! …of course it will work, stop looking at me like that. The tea tray is especially made for this, it’s the Twisted gift by The Fooding, after all. The bloody skin is by The Plastik, from the Macabre Hunt. The hair is another squee-do by Wasabi Pills. Both this pose and the one below are by No Strings Attached — from their zombie poses, actually.

See? Entranced by noms! The beholder jewelry set is by Amaranthus, the tattoo is by Imperio Designs — I love how the skeletal hands are reaching down on the front. Both are from the Twisted Hunt. As for the tattoo layers, I’m using Dragonet by Adam n Eve (Witch Hunt), but I’ve darkened the eye shadows with one of the layers that came with the skin. Eyes by Poetic Colors.

And then I got to indulge in my blatant favoritism toward silvery-white looks, yesyes.

The gorgeous faun legs and the strange hair are by Gilded (Twisted Hunt) and the hair looks almost like a collection of horns on its own, so I didn’t add any to it. The skin is also by The Plastik, but it’s from the Platinum Hunt that’s ended already. I just liked the idea of having all three chimeras be all Plastiky, so I used it anyway. The tree, tea setting and the grass are all by Zoe’s Garden (Twisted Hunt). Pose by KS2Cool.

As for make-up there’s silver eyeshadow by Sorry.Asia, lashes by Miamai and silvery crystal decorations by White Widow. The shaved stripes hair base is by DeeTaleZ and also a tattoo layer. Lookit, I has hooves! This pose by TeaSoup was too funny to resist. The bloodless glowy eyes are by The Plastik and the silvery scales are from a freebie mermaid avatar by Lost in Starnight.

52 Colours: Brick Red

Another brick-related red, this time almost pink in tone. On my screen, at least. I felt particularly uninspired by it, I must say, so I tried to at least find a nifty bricksy place to take pictures in. This was no mean feat since I don’t actually save landmarks with ‘awesome brick build!’ comments. *coughs* However, I did succeed and find a pretty shopping sim with brick buildings! The Nest is a gorgeous wander-and-shop area with plenty of awesome furniture shops, sort of a joint effort on their part to have them all in the same place.

The only piece of garment with the right tones that I had was a mini dress by Acid & Mala. Miss Brick Red refused to wear the dress though and told me she was a pants-wearing girl, so I turned the dress into a top instead. I matched the hair to the boots for a darker tone to frame the top — boots from a pirate outfit by Little Heaven, the hair by Waka & Yuki. Pose by Olive Juice.

I used a skin by Ploom and played with tattoo layers for make-up: Mynerva eyeliner & shadow, Miamai lashes, Esk-Imo lipstick. Bright bangle by LaGyo, red eyes and black pants both by The Plastik. Now that Miss Brick Red is facing us, we can witness one of the not-so-nice side effects of shadows. What without shadows is a perfectly even sharp bangs turns into a notched look like your hairdresser had a vendetta against you. I was despairing about this, I assure you. In the end I decided I liked the hair so much that even that wouldn’t stop me wearing it for this and that actually it gave Miss Brick Red more edge and character. *nods*

The wonderful Bubbles-ring is by .( bewildebeest ). — I love big rings in SL. Too often small jewelry — no matter how delicately made in greatest detail simply goes unnoticed or even unrezed. Rather wear one or two big pieces that show! The cascade-earrings are Coyo’s handiwork as well, all of them review copy gifties~ ❤ The tattoo that is peeking from beneath the top is by Re.Birth, a part of an old hunt gift look.

Now if I could get Miss Brick Red away from the swings and playgrounds I might actually get some furniture shopping done…
