Space Bubbles

What else do you call the hilarious vintage scifi space suit helmet that is like a goldfish bowl attached to your head? Except adorable, of course. Or amusing. Or in this case, Hutt Ball. …no, not really. But still, I had more fun taking pictures of trying to catch the damn thing than with it on.

The helmet and the outfit by Rotten Defiance are available in the CHIC part of Vintage Fair in many colour variations, each just 100L, which I thought was practically space robbery. So much fun to be had!

The skin by Glam Affair is in the current Collabor88, I just added an eye stripe makeup by Nuuna’s Skins to it for further cyber vibe. The Fraya hair by :esk-imo: is one of their new releases for the (already ended) Hair Fair, which means that they should now be in the main store for lagless shopping of amazing colour combinations.

The environment is one of the dream scenes by Garden of Dreams. The Space skybox has 219 prims, footprint of 40×40 and has animations and poses perfect for meditating, posing, floating, flying, snuggling or quite-more-than-snuggling in space. There’s also nifty Tai Chi possibilities available in the rocks!

Cryptogram

It’s like a telegram, except sent from a crypt. Obviously. Right? Regardless, this particular lady just woke up in one and is debating whether to lounge about some more or to see if the night has brought out anything delicious.

She’s also showing off the boots that are probably among the short list of my very favourite ones ever: Selene by lassitude & ennui. They are available in the World Goth Fair with all the other gothic shoe essentials. Speaking of gothic essentials, flimsy black fluttery creations that bridge the border between a dress and a night gown are one of those. In this case, gothic lace dress by Ezura.

The crypt itself is another wondrous creation from *~by Nacht. I also used Bathory jewelry by The Muses, gloves by SAKIDE and eyeliner by Pin Me Down to further indulge in gothic traits.

There’s a handy page with slurl links to all the booths in the World Goth Fair right here, just for you. ❤

The Magic of Noms

Fair warning: do not go to Jungle Bungle if you’re feeling peckish. There’s chocolate lake and paths of candy drops and all sort of noms everywhere!

However, if you do end up there you can find this Chocolate Delight dress by Simply Fae in there! What better way to wander through candyland than dressed in chocolate, hmm?

I decorated the nomness with a celtic heart necklace by T R I D E N T Jewelry and chocolate matching Hawk2-hair by Wasabi Pills. The necklace can be found in Shadow’s Claw and the hair in The Tides. The extra noms I excavated from my inventory and they are most likely old hunt gifts, but they felt so very appropriate for this that I couldn’t resist the sweetness.

Donna Flora A to Z: O for Opera

A few days ago Cajsa Lilliehook approached her timeline in Plurk with a question if any bloggers wanted to be in a Super Secret Project. Obviously I volunteered immediately. Once I heard what it was all about, I was even more excited. All of us volunteered bloggers would cover Squinternet Larnia’s gorgeous work, going through the whole alphabet of it. I wanted letter C for reasons that soon become obvious, but since it was taken at that point, I picked O and finally had the excuse to buy this Opera Skull jewelry set.

It’s a breathtakingly pretty cameo set of extravagance — with the cameo lady being a skeleton! Vintage couture never married goth so well as here. The set comes with the collar, ring and earrings.

The reason I originally wanted C was this Cage outfit. It’s one of those ‘not possible in RL’ creations that I so love. I pondered doing nude shots with the jewelry, but eventually gave up and just bought this as well, just tried to keep the focus on the jewelry. I had to show it off, though! It makes my steampunk couture instincts squee.

I played around with depth of field to focus on the ring some more and I rather liked the effect.   Sometimes it really takes me by surprise how much you can achieve with SL graphics.

You can find all these pretties in Donna Flora. I picked more surreal couture with a dash of goth for my look, but she features gorgeous vintage of several eras and breathtaking showpieces of jewelry. As for Cajsa’s original post and a list of the other letter blog posts, you can find them here.

52 Colours: Champagne

It’s started again! Round two of the colour challenge and another year full of colours I’ve never even heard of! This year begins with champagne, very appropriately. Unfortunately I posted champagne pictures yesterday, so I figured I’d do something else for this. As I was digging through my inventory for things in this colour — I always have trouble with yellowish tones — I suddenly knew exactly what I wanted. I hopped over to Violent Seduction to leak more lindens their way. I’ve been visiting them every now and then and grabbing things since they have a -50% sale going on until January 12th.

Miss Champagne is an extremely classy kind of girl and if she is intoxicating… well, that is a secret between you and her. She loves parties, but only the fancy kind — ballrooms, chandeliers, gowns — aristocracy as it only exists in fantasies.

I took Miss Champagne to my favorite fancy ballroom castle area in Japan Tempura Island and as I mentioned before, fancied her up with Muse-gown from Violent Seduction. I’m certain she’d inspire plenty of things in it. As for Miss Champagne herself, she’s made out of a skin by Pink Fuel, eyes by Poetic Colors, lashes by Redgrave and hair by Sky Everett.

I couldn’t resist the drinkwater looking glass necklace by .( bewildebeest )., it was so perfectly classy and fitting. A monocle was a given, she is a traditionalist, after all. This touch of old-time class is by E&D Engineering. The pearls around her wrist are by Bonita’s. The first pose is by TeaSoup, the second by PurplePoses, the third is a part of Sonya’s AO — snapped the picture as I had just arrived.

Here’s to 51 more colours!

On the Edge

Or the Faun Who Wanted to Fly. It all started when I got a surprise review copy packet from Annabelle Couturier of ~Cannibelle~.  From all the things in it one thing immediately called to me: Efa-tattoo of birds. I love feathers, I love birds, I love flying. Yes, even the plane type. Most of all I love the -idea- of flying, real flying, having wings and soaring. But first the faun — and every little bird — has to take the step over the edge.

The faun legs, tail, horns and wings are by Favole from A Very Rotten Christmas Hunt. The claws are an old hunt gift by [ni.Ju] and I added bangles by Mandala to them. The white skin with the black mask is by Nuuna, as is the tattoo that crosses eyes and then goes down the face and body.

Falling through the dark skies required a bit more clothes, so I put on the rest of the Buckle Up outfit by Violent Seduction. Eyes are by Repulse and the hair is one of my all-time favorites from Deviant Kitties. I’m not sure if it’s available anymore or not. The poses are by Niqotine Poses (1&3) and PurplePoses (2).

Falling isn’t so scary once you make up your mind and dive, instead…

Glitching

I’ve been playing Glitch lately so much that this was pretty much inevitable. If you’ve never heard of the game, it’s flash-based browser-mmo of random quirkiness, amusement and awesome. Hop over to the site to check it out!

The painting is a screenshot of my Glitch-character, all fancy in her red autumn coat and a top hat. Obviously she’s making her way from the 2d-world of Glitch to the more 3d world of Second Life there, squirming through the painting. The frame and the accompanying pose are by On The Cover.

Dressing Sonya in similar gear was easy: I grabbed the latest Project Themeory coat by ISON in red, added old promo tights by Le Look and an awesome top hat by Illusions to it as well as my favorite autumn boots by Lassitude & Ennui. I also located a cutely blushing grey skin by Pink Fuel, hair by Lamb, eyes by Poetic Colors and lip gloss by M.O.C.K. Cosmetics to complete the Glitchling look. The watering can is by RC Cluster and the pose by Es’cusi.

Squeeze all the chickens! That’s how you get grain, by the way. You squeeze chickens. I couldn’t find appropriately cutesy cartoony chickens, so I just grabbed a random freebie chicken from the Marketplace. The squishing pose is by Niqotine. The adorable piggie is by Intrigue Co. You get meat by nibbling piggies. Oh, and dairy products are butterfly provided: you milk butterflies. But only after a massage, of course! These butterflies are by Alirium.

Ommm… Focusing orbs are girl’s Glitch’s best friend. Keeps you on your feet! I made the orb here myself, just a quickie sphere with some colour, transparency and glow. The egg plant (that is where eggs come from, naturally) in the background is by Herbalys, as are the rest of the plants and crops. I love their things, so full of strange, quirky cuteness. They were pretty much perfect for Glitch-scenery, too. The meditation pose is by Purple Poses.

That said, I have more planting and squeezing and exploring to do! If you decide to give a Glitch a chance, do remember that you should say no to No No Powder!
