Space Bunny: Guardian of Fluffzoid 8

The thing about the space bunnies of Fluffzoid 8 that isn’t mentioned to the tourists is that their leaders are shapeshifters. One moment a fluffy hoppy thing of bright colours, the next a guardian female of telekinetic powers strong enough to toss trespassers into orbit.

They take their job of guarding their smaller kin seriously: the majority of the bunnies are unable to shapeshift and simply enjoy their curious lives on Fluffzoid 8 sniffing, nuzzling and flopping about to enjoy the suns in the turquoise grass.

What is widely known, however, is that not one single bunny has been taken off-planet in the known galactic history. There are continuous attempts of course, ranging from official zoo and research expeditions to downright pet poaching. They all fail.

Therefore the only way to pet a space bunny is to travel to Fluffzoid 8, follow the safety regulations, bring treats and behave yourself. You never know who is hiding underneath that teal fluff and wiggly nose.

The Legacy of Maul skin by Fallen Gods Inc. is available in We Love RP and the hair by Olive (Sweetpea) can be won in this round’s Arcade. The outfit by r2 is not made for mesh bodies and does not have any appliers, I simply wore it over Maitreya’s Lara and alphad a teeny tiny bit on top. It worked otherwise fine but the boots clipped slightly around thighs in most poses. The body suit and gloves are available in Collabor88 right now.

Super Maya

Even superheroes have to live with the perceptions of others, with their opinions, with their words and views. All of these are always based on very little knowledge, on snippets of information, ideas, quick glances: often completely wrong.

The opinions of others might feel like a box around you, telling you what you are, defining you. Your own ideas and wishes might begin to appear strange and a bit scary, a dream taking a shape of a nightmare. 

Once you find the courage to ride the dream you will realize that the suffocating box of others views of you is just ignorant guesses telling more about them than you and that you can shrug it all off and ride out to gaze into your own horizon.

It takes bravery to remember that no one knows you better than yourself and that everyone is their own life’s superhero, fighting the unseen battles. It helps to know everyone else has their own villains harassing them and that there are always others willing to join forces with you and to have your back. 

This is a post for and about Super Maya, who is a little six year old girl bullied in school. She dressed up as a superhero just to feel stronger and more able to handle the issue. Axi of Beautiful Freak made these fancy superhero nails just to send Maya a message of courage, and has asked everyone to take pictures of them and to add them in the Beautiful Freak’s flickr pool to send the same message to Maya. The nails are available in Silly 7. The boots by lassitude & ennui are also new and available in Geeks’N’Nerds.

The Glyph of the Bun

“I greet you, bunlings, and wish you warm eve. What has brought you out of the forest in such numbers, what might be so important that you ventured forth all the way to the Pool Between Worlds?” 

“We want to write things!”
“Yey things!”
“Many yey things!”
“To make surprises!”
“We can’t be cheerful in human sounds, strange loud human sounds.”
“But we want to yey. Happy yeys!”
“To be helpful.”
“And then we hop out of the surprise box and waaaaave flags. Yey-flags!”

“That is certainly a noble goal and nice of you, brave bunlings. To mark down human sounds you need some ink and paper, like so… and a brush to hold with paws, possibly mouth, maybe if you tilt your head… yes. I must say that is a remarkably well done pictogram, very clear in meaning, but perhaps also these signs… they are called letters. Add them for emphasis, hm?”

“‘s a bun glyph! It says ‘yey!'”
“Letters just dull lines. Bun glyph better.”
“Are you sure the dull lines say yey too?”
“They don’t look very yeysome.”
“Are you really really suuuure? Ohalright.”
“Now we’ll form a pyramid and then hop out and wave all the yeys!”

“Perfect. I’m sure your bravery and dedication will be noted and appreciated. Now hop back to the forest to practice, I think the pyramid could use some more work. Perhaps practice on a cushion, come to think of it. It’ll become the best of surprises.”

This just happened. Don’t ask me how. These things do that. Happen.
